BUZZ's Brigade - TEAM CHALLENGE - POST MILES/HOURS HERE

Hey, Chris, I decided on the spur on the moment to do the OBX marathon after all and tried to get some good photos for you here:

Goofy Practice by Goofy WISHer (OBX Marathon)

Enjoy!

I am going to give up trying to catch up my mileage at this point, but hopefully I can "start fresh" and double those marathon miles for next week's totals.

Well from reading that post you are getting at least 52.4 miles just for the Marathon. :thumbsup2 Add in another 6.2 for the 5k and another 10 for your training walk and we're up to 68.6 just for the weekend.

I'll just have to go back through all the race reports to get all the other miles I've missed. :lmao:

Everyone else thanks for posting the numbers. I look forward to seeing how everyone is doing each week. :thumbsup2

As for me I did 29.5 miles this past week. Really enjoyed those. Now for this week coming up I didn't enjoy them so much, but it is what it is. May have to hit the treadmill tomorrow for the first time in forever. Hopefully it's a light rain and I can stay outside.

Updated to here. Keep it up Buzzies.

How's this one? DD just took it this afternoon. She's a little in need of a good brushing, but we're holding off until her bare spots fill in once the thyroid medication kicks in!

Jackie - I "stole" this from the weekly thread to tell you that your dog is precious!! :cutie: She is beautiful. I try to read the weekly thread, but haven't posted on it in a while. I guess I feel that I can't since I'm not running. I know deep down that they wouldn't mind, but I just feel funny about it. Plus it is hard to keep up with all my threads as it is. :upsidedow

Here are my miles/time for the week of 11/8-11/14:

25.25 miles
4 hours, 26 minutes

Allie - thanks for making my addition to the team a welcome one!

Duane - That would be great if you do the Las Vegas 1/2 next year. I'm sure I'll continue to do it as long as I can since it's only a 20 min commute for me. I just realized that 2008 is the first time they've added the 1/2 distance to the LV marathon since re-vamping it in 2005. It was only a full for those first two years. ('05 & '06) It should be ann exciting event with pretty decent running temps and a fairly flat course.

Hi All,
Checking in with this weeks totals.
40.5 plus bonus miles for a 5K so my adjusted total is: 43.7 miles.

Around 405 minutes

I did get a PR in the 5K (evening race) and that was after I ran 8 miles in the morning. maybe I need to do that more often.

Casey,
the LV marathon actually looks pretty boring after the first 6 miles. That's why I plan on just running the half. Besides, a lot less training :)

enjoy everyone,
Duane

Hey Gang,
Another decent week for me (11/7-11/13). This week won't be as good. Seeing a 'foot doctor' tomorrow about nagging heel. :headache: Will see what they think.

Anyhoo,
Miles 13.26
Time 3:15

Hey team just doing a Buzz By.

Mike - Any news to report on your foot/heel? Hope all is well.

Duane - Looks like your training is going well. I'm close to the same schedule now with one less run per week. Sundays 17 miler really kicked my rear after a 7 on Saturday. Congrats on the PR by the way.

Allie - Where are you? It's been a week since your last post now you have me worried. Hope your training is going well.

Everyone else I hope the weather isn't too bad where you live and no injuries are keeping us off the road!

Allie - Where are you? It's been a week since your last post now you have me worried. Hope your training is going well.

Sorry didn't mean to worry you. Just been busy cooking/serving the Thanksgiving feast for our 4 year olds at our preschool. We (my coworkers, and I) had to cook and serve enough food for 160 folks. It was your typical southern Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey, Ham, Sweet potato casserole, corn, green beans, hash brown casserole, strawberry pretzel salad, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, apple pie, homemade peach cobbler. It was yummy, but I'm exhausted. We cooked yesterday, and had the feast today.

Here are my totals for the week of 11/7 - 11/13:

Miles: 7.44

Hours: 2:25:05

All of that is just walking. I haven't run much lately. I have just gotten out of the habit, and need to get back into it. Although, it has turned of COLD, down here, so that's another excuse not to run. Hopefully when my new WISH shirt arrives, I'll be in the mood again. :thumbsup2 I'll try to be more timely with my totals this week Chris. Thanks for asking about me.

Hey Gang,
Thanks Chris. All went well with the heel. The Dr gave me a bunch of options. I am really blessed because he is a runner and understands the training and race goals. He shied away from the cortisone shots so I could continue to train for January and not damage the foot any more. I'm wearing night splint and the inserts. X-ray showed a pronounced spur on the heel. He said after the race he could do a non-intrusive surgery that would sideline me for about 4 weeks but would definitely cure the problem. Gave me a prescription for Mobic(?) for inflamation.>>>>>>I must be getting old. When someone ask me how I'm doing I spend 10 minutes explain my ailments<<<<<<< AHGGG! :scared1: I am my MOM!

Allie? How can you even move. Turkey, Ham, Sweet potato casserole, corn, green beans, hash brown casserole, strawberry pretzel salad, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, apple pie, homemade peach cobbler.

Anyway planning on a long one tomorrow so I'll check in with some mileage then!!!!!

Hey Team How goes it? :cheer2:

I did 34.25 Miles this week and 30 miles the week before. Some good runs some not so good runs in there, but I finished all of them I guess right. :rolleyes1

Have an 18 miler scheduled tomorrow. We'll see how that goes. Weather stinks right now for me as it's cold and ugly out. My last two runs the wind chill has been in the teens. I hope no one else is training is stuff like this. :lmao:

This weekend is my time to Finish my Christmas lights. :santa: Should take me most of my weekend, but the kids around here really love them so I keep doing it. Running has cut down on what I do on the roof. Had to cut back somewhere.

Lets go Buzzies. We are headed for the Home stretch with just over a month to go. I can't believe this year is almost over.

Yeah, I really need to get out there and RUN! I just got my WISH shirt from Mel (the race ready order), so that has got me motivated to get out there and show it off. :cool2:

Oh, and I take Mobic too. Sometimes I can tell a difference, and sometimes it does nothing for me. I have the beginnings of arthritis, so that is what my ortho. dr. gave me to help with the pain. Hope it helps you make it through.

Alright Chris, I'm here to report, so you don't have to send a search party for me. ;) :lmao: 34 Miles? :scared1: :faint:

Here are my totals for the week of 11/14 - 11/20:

Miles: 10.65

Hours: 3:27:25

Let's go Buzzies!!!!! To Infinity and Beyond!!!!

Hi Buzz Team,

I'm creeping back in after way too long away. I've been training for the Disney Half Marathon since the beginning of October, but before that fell off the bandwagon for a few weeks. I had a constant headache for about a month and was having trouble getting through the workday, let alone running. Lots of tests and doctors visits found nothing, but luckily I am feeling better now. So if you'll have me back I would love to re-join the team for the rest of the year.
Right now I'm in week 7 of my 14 week half marathon training schedule.

Here are my numbers from the past week:
Time: 4:17
Miles: 20.5

Reading back through the posts it sounds like everyone is doing really well with their training. Hope you all have a great weekend:)

Hi Buzzies!

I get to double my San Antonio miles, so put me down for:

26.2 miles
211 minutes

Jessica :welcome: back!

Very sorry to hear about your headache and it setting you back, but it's good to hear things have gotten better! :thumbsup2 If you have your numbers since the beginning of October I can enter them in one lump sum. If not that's alright too the important thing is you are back and healthy! :grouphug:

Pat - Congrats on the half in San Antonio. I hope to do that one someday and from looking at your pictures I know I have to. :yay:

Allie - I'll try and post my lights from a couple years ago. Last year and this I cut back because of all the running. :santa: I still do enough, but we had to get rid of some of the stuff too.

Wow Chris! The house looks awesome! I will definitely back track and report my past numbers... sometime this weekend. It will just take a little time to get together. Thanks for the welcome back:goodvibes

Wow Chris, that's amazing!! Thanks for sharing! Does that run your electric bill up? I've always wondered that. I don't do any lights on the outside. I'm just lazy I guess. Plus, I figure if I can't do it right, I don't want to do it at all. :snooty:

Thanks for spreading holiday cheer with us. :santa:

Hi Buzzies,

Sneaking back in.....sorry to be MIA....again. :rolleyes1

Glad to see you guys holding down the fort. :thumbsup2 Great job on the miles & minutes. :woohoo:

Chris - Awesome Christmas lights!

Here's my numbers to catch me up:

Month of October
Miles 58.83 (includes double mileage for Hampton Beach Half)
Minutes 668 (11hrs 8min)

First 3 weeks of November (Ending Thursday 11-20-08)
Miles 56.6 (includes double mileage for San Antonio Half)
Minutes 617 (10hrs 17min)

:cool1: WOW Chris!:worship: ,
Chris>They don't move around to Trans Siberian Orchestra music do they? Holidays are so much fun. Our joke around here is that it's time to put up the gaudy christmas lights. Maybe I'll take a picture this year and post. Clark Griswald was always a hero to me. Wife won't let me leave up year round. Would be so much easier and we could add hundreds more each year.

Jessica:Take care of those headaches. I don't have very many but have a dear friend that has to deal with them weekly. Not fun, Saying a little prayer:tinker:

Here's the miles this week. Even had a LR of 11 miles. (A lot of walking involved but I made it relatively pain free!) I think the Dr telling me that it would be hard to do further damage unless I really pounded it, so I don't.

Miles 20.27
Hours 4:13

Nice Chris. I love Christmas lights. That's the best part of running after work, I get to see all the lights since it is so dark.

This week:
42 miles 420 minutes

This week I ran 8 on Friday pretty fast then the 18 on Saturday. That really takes it out of you! Chris, I know you do pretty much the same schedule, can you feel the difference? My legs were beat around mile 14.

enjoy everyone,
Duane
