BUZZ's Brigade - TEAM CHALLENGE - POST MILES/HOURS HERE

Happy Friday Buzzies!

Colleen:welcome:

Allie - that is one crazy story about the goose. I'm glad that you and your DD weren't hurt.

Mike - I'm glad the treatment went as well as you could have hoped for.

Jill - I hope you have a good trip with the Girl Scouts.

Michelle - :cheer2: Good luck on your first race and :wizard: for your shin splints. I hope they get better soon.

Jessica - I hope you are able to enjoy some better weather!

Cam - :thumbsup2 way to go on getting to the gym when you are so busy. Do you know yet whether or not you are going to be able to make the Minnie?

:wave2: to everyone else

As for me, I have completely recovered from my cold last week (which cause me to skip 10 miles of scheduled runs) and am feeling pretty good. I might actually run an 8k tomorrow morning. We're going to wait and see what the weather is like (prediction of thunderstorms).

Totals for the week:

33 miles
5 hours 44 minutes

This is all running :sad2: - I have been bad and not done any cross training or ab work in weeks. I really need to get back to that. Making sure I get some ab workouts in is my goal for next week.

Thank you for asking, Cindy. I stil have no idea whether I will be able to go to the Minnie. I am trying to stay positive and I refuse to cancel my plane tickets until I have absolutely no choice, but it is all up to someone other than me. I am sure you can imagine how tough that if for a control freak like me. ;)

WOW! This team's numbers are so impressive this week. I am so proud of all the minutes that my Buzzies are putting in to be healthier and more fit! :yay:

Thanks so much. Glad you are feeling better.

I have a question for all you race veterans. I keep reading in the running books about chip times. I was wondering how you attach it to your shoe. I don't know if my 5K even has one, but these are the things I think about:rotfl2:

Michelle - Good luck on your first 5K this weekend. Don't forget that you get to count the miles as double! :thumbsup2 So that is an instant 6.2 for you! :cool1:

We decided to do the 8k so I am up eating breakfast. Yay for double miles!

There are actually different kind of timing chips and if your race has one, they will usually give you something to put it on your shoe (and instructions on how to do it). ChampionChip is the most common chip (it's what Disney uses) and for most ChampionChip races they will give you these plastic tie things to put it on your shoe that can be cut off at the end to remove it. I've also run ChampionChip races where they didn't give you any ties and you had to attach it to your shoe with your shoe laces, which is fine except bending down to untie your shoe at the end of the race is sometimes not so fun. I wouldn't worry about it, if there is a chip, there will be plenty of people at the race who can show you how to do it if you have any questions. Good luck!

I know you guys are hunting the Bunnies furry hides so you guys should know that they had a team bike-a-thon this weekend to gather miles. Not that I don't think you guys can't think up things on your own, just giving you an intell report on the competition's game plan.

Recon Panda:hippie:

No Fair Panda, some of us only run. Heck, I don't even own a bicycle:)

Sorry I am late team but here are my numbers:
Running: 16 miles 160 minutes
Cross Train: 90 minutes.

Sorry but that's it this week.

Now time to go back and read some posts.
enjoy,
Duane

Cindy, Buzz Buddy!! :woohoo: FANTASTIC!!! A first place anywhere is still a FIRST PLACE!!! I'm just amazed...an "on the spur of the moment" AND hills event...:worship:
CONGRATULATIONS!!

I posted that on the Race Reports thread, but wanted it here, too.

AuntieM03/Michelle, all of a sudden there has been a flurry of chip discussions on the board...

HTH!! :goodvibes Anne

Weeks totals (late! sorry!): 5 miles in 1:19:30
-- but yesterday I did that many miles in a single day, so I may finally be getting back in a groove. (Fingers crossed.)

Another lousy week...

Miles: 1.65
Hours: 0:53

The good news is that I actually went out and ran this morning. I've already done more miles this week than all of last week. Plus, I'd posted on the main thread that during a walk last week my dog Mystic sliced her paw pad open so she wasn't able to do any walking, but it seems to be healing nicely so she may be able to start putting in some miles this week.

Way to go Jackie and Wendy.....Believe it or not, you guys are the ones that keep me motivated:cheer2:

Good Morning Buzzies,

Sorry I’ve been MIA the last couple of weeks. Just lots of LTO. Trying to do too many things at once, where you get to, you just don’t know what to do first. :lmao: Marie’s Baby Shower is Sunday. After that, I will hopefully have more time to keep up. :thumbsup2

Chris – Sorry you had to come looking for me. I will try to (at a minimum) at least get my miles & minutes posted every week.

Colleen – Welcome!

Cam – Thanks for asking about Sean, Marie & our soon to be born grandson. The baby is due May 21st so it is getting close. :yay: Yep, we are helping them out. They are staying with us for a while so they can save for a house. That has been a big part of my LTO the last few months. Our spare bedroom had become more of a giant closet & now needed to be cleaned out to become the nursery. Which entailed cleaning out every other closet in the house to make room for the stuff from the spareroom. :scared1: :lmao: The nursery is now finally about done. New carpet was installed this morning. Sean will set the crib up this week and dresser & changing table will be in next week. How’s it looking for you to make it to Minnie? I really hope you can make it. Not just because we enjoy seeing you, but I really think you can use the couple of days to de-stress & come back fresh for the trial. Are you & Howard still planning on doing the Spring Lake 5?

Allie – OMG on the goose smashing your windshield. Glad everyone was ok!

Congratulations to everyone for getting in their Miles & Minutes! The BUZZIES Rock!

Here are my totals:

Week Ending 4-3
Miles – 25.13
Time – 9:30

Week Ending 4-10
Miles – 20.61
Time – 5:25

To Infinity & Beyond!

Karen,

Just making sure no one gets left behind on our team. :thumbsup2

I'm getting worried about our Captain as I haven't seen her in about a month on here. :confused3

I think we have the quietest team out there though. :lmao:

party: :rockband::dancer: HELLO BUZZIES!!!!!!!!!party: :rockband: :dancer:

Just trying to make some noise around here. :rolleyes1

Chris, I hope she is just up to her eyeballs in Annie rehearsals. Have you heard (aka PM) from her? :confused3

WOW!!! Thanks, but I promise you that I get much more motivation from you. Every time I'm having a hard time getting out there, I think about you putting in the miles while undergoing chemo and I'm in awe!

Karen - Good luck with the shower and final nursery setup. You'll have to post pictures since Krista's given us hers on the main thread!

After my hilly return to running this past weekend, I decided to give the legs a little break today and try the exercise bike instead. Haven't ridden it in a LONG time, as evidenced by the dust I had to wipe off before I got on the thing! Managed 45:00/12 miles while watching Sunday's episode of "Desperate Housewives."

Nope not a word. I did send her a PM hoping to catch her, but nothing yet. I figure she's very busy as are a couple other team mates, but I'm trying to stay on top of the numbers and I'm worried about em. :thumbsup2

Good morning Brigade!

No covert operations or anything going on here, I promise ;)

I did want to make sure you guys knew that we are utilizing a new spreadsheet that is located here:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=ppYit0DjqjVcAhKsgnZ6hOA&hl=en

If you were able to modify the old sheet, you were sent an e-mail invitation on Saturday morning linking you to the new sheet so you can modify it as well. Just let me know if you guys have any difficulties entering info on the new sheet.

Oh...I have updated everything as of this morning on the new sheet for you guys :) I saw there were entries on the old sheet yesterday :)

Have fun and keep up the great work!!

Yeah that was me. I used the old sheet. I couldn't find us on the new sheet so I thought it was just pulling the totals from the old sheet so we could read the Monthly totals better. Personally I like us having our own tabs, but I understand why the change was made.

Lets go Team Buzz's Brigade. Just got in a 3.75 mile walk at lunch and I feel great. The weather finally broke (Hopefully for good) and I'm loving it. I hope eveyone else is able to get out and about!!!! :cool1:  :dance3:
