Amazingly we haven't gone on this but want to this time. Here are my questions:
1. Does it spin a lot? For those who have been on both, how does it compare to Men In Black at Universal?
2. Is it usually a tough FP to get? We got FPs for it already but now I see there's already no availability for it almost a month out. I remember seeing it available as a 4th before, is it suddenly more popular?

1. They are both rides where you shoot and score points. That's where the similarity ends, IMHO. Men In Black is very dynamic whereas Buzz I would describe as a ride through arcade. Very fun. Score is tallied at the end. Regarding spin...as PP mentioned, you control that.

2. We've done this with and without FP. If you want to do it in the middle of the day, I'd suggest FP. It can be a reasonable wait if not a walk on before the park closes.

1. It only spins as much as you make it, except where you are going up an incline, and it tends to drift to the side a little there.

2. No, it isn't usually difficult to get FP for, though I would get FP, as the line can be fairly long if you ride standby. We have had decent luck getting this as a 4th FP.

It doesn't spin as much as it rotates, and you are in control of that for almost the entire ride. At the very beginning and end of the ride, there are brief parts where the car turns automatically to face what they want you to see, but again, it just rotates similar to a car on Haunted Mansion or Spaceship Earth. It isn't spinning like on Toy Story Mania.

I feel Space Ranger Spin is very tame compared to Men in Black. It moves more slowly, does not spin as much and it is not as jerky. FP's are usually easy to get. DH and I always enjoy the competition of who gets the most points. Also there is no need to put your things in a locker before you ride Space Ranger Spin.

I think this is a ride where a FP is very useful as the lines can get very long. However, it usually is possible to get it for a 4th FP. But like most additional FP, it depends on someone dropping it around the time you're looking for it.

We love it and gotten it as an extra fast pass many times. You can you tube any ride to see it.

Buzz is a fun ride, but not in the same category as MIB. The objects in buzz look like cartoons and MIB are full characters.
You have full control to rotate your car in buzz, not in MIB.
We have not had trouble getting a FP for Buzz on the same day.

I go back to the original If You Had Wings days.
I only know about that one from research online, that was before I went there. One thing I'd like to do is play the Dreamflight music on my phone while on the ride, but I imagine it'd be drowned out by ride audio

If you’ve already got a FP for Buzz, you will need to try and modify that FP to see additional times, otherwise you will always see it as unavailable, because you already have an FP for it, not because they are all gone. Hope you have a great time on it.

We rode it twice last week. Got it as a 5th FP for a party of 4 on Nov 18th, which was an above-average crowd (Mickey's 90th birthday), and waited about 5 minutes in standby by getting in line 3 minutes before park close on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving (another busy park day).

Yep. The FP system is awful. I so wish they could just show a list of all available times and let you pick what you want.

It can be annoying, that's for sure. OP you should be able to modify your time for Buzz. I enjoy spinning on the ride, so my family has me go alone LOL.

Men in Black at Universal is way more intense in terms of spinning. That one makes me queasy by the end of the ride, but I'm fine on Buzz.

We tried twice to get Buzz as a 4th FP during our trip about three weeks ago. Once we were successful, once we were not.
