Buzz Lightyear ride glitch? DS6 scored 999,999!

I'm thinking there must be a glitch on the Buzz Lightyear ride. Yesterday, I scored 350,000 (I am a terrible shot) and then later in he afternoon my six year old son scored 999,999 within the first few minutes. He was very excited, but his score did not seem possible.

Very possible. Some targets are worth far more than others. If you do this, you can ask CMs at the end of the ride for a Galactic Hero button.

It's possible. He could have just hit a couple of targets just right.

And besides, it's Disney World - of course he can max it out! Magic happens every day.

Yes, this is very possible. Several targets, such as the back of the robot's hand, are worth as much as 100,000 points per shot. Other times it can be simply holding down the trigger and not releasing it, which also can increase your score. There are plenty of ways to reach that score, but the scorer does max out at 999,999!

It happened to us a few days ago with DD4. He usually leaves the gun pointing straight up and just hits he button.

I scored that once, just once. Usually I am a terrible spot even though I know where to aim for the really high points.

Yep, I max out the score maybe one out of every three times. You just have to know where the targets are and get a car mate who is cooperative. My DD likes to swing us from side to side - that makes it much harder!

I think there may be a glitch for this reason - if we accept that the highest score for any single target is 100,000, then figure to max the gun out you have to hit those targets seven or eight times, if not more. And there are only four of them that I'm aware of.

I can see one of the youngsters hitting these by accident once or twice. Maybe three times, if we stretch it. Remember, most of these are not targets that your gun would tend to be pointed at just by random chance.

So I think the chances of one of the kiddos who's just enjoying pointing his gun and pulling the trigger and taking in the sights and sounds, somehow nailing a hard-to-hit target seven times by pure random chance is really small.

If you're talking about racking up points from the 40k or 50k targets, then it takes even more lucky shots, although many of those targets are admittedly much easier to see and hit.

Hence, I suspect there's something more going on.

And I have no problem with that - if there's a CM in the back room who decides to occasionally give a bucket of points to a young kid by hitting the "special" switch, that's just great.

I don't think there's a glitch, just a very lucky little kid! I got 999,999 once in the first 45 seconds of the ride, needless to say DH was not as amused as I was. I still don't know what I hit.

I did it once, out of about 10 times on the ride! I was so happy!! I took a picture of the score just to remember it! Congrats on the totally awesome score!

I've done it too. No idea what I hit. I was excited but since that happened fairly early on in the ride, I just had to sit there since you can't get a higher score than that.

I have read that there are certain targets that will automatically give you 999,999 points. My DD, who never wins at anything, got 999999 points at the very beginning of the ride, which just about killed my DS, who always wins at everything, who only got a couple hundred thousand! Funny looking back on it, not quite so easy in the moment though! Wish we would have taken a pic of the scores! Now my son is obsessed with finding out which targets give you the 999999 so he can do it next time!

I did this....never got a button....but it kind of stunk because it ends the game and I just had to ride the rest of the game

I got 650k and 999,999 on our two rides earlier this month. Then I won TSM both times we ride. My very competitive DH was not as excited as I was!

I did that!!! Didn't let me score anymore after that but I was all happy!! Not sure what target I hit but went from like 85,000 to 999,999 with two shots! My DS6 was with me and he got 200,000 or so pretty quick. We really beat dw and dd! Lol!

I do it every trip and make sure to text my son a picture to rub it in each time. It's rare I don't hit it. There are several highly valuable targets. I did note last trip some of the good ones did not appear to be working well, as well as some guns out of line - maybe it's time to give Buzz a tuneup!

my Dh and his buddy in diff car both did it. I swear my DH hit something in first room. WE had minor stop but nothing that should have resulted in 2 cars back to back getting top score.

I did the same thing! Wish I had known about the button. Our ride stopped (I figure to help someone with mobility issues) and everyone's lasers stopped working. Mine kept going - I think because I kept the button pressed. I just kept aiming at the same target for the entire time we were stopped and it maxed out my score! I usually can't hit a thing as I can't see where the laser hits.
