The last time we rode BLRS, the guns seemed difficult to operate. The button was hard to push. If you have ridden before and after the 1/2006 refurbishment, did you notice that the guns seemed easier to use than before?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Yeah I know what you are talking about. No fixes here. I know they are probably harder to push than you'd like but I think MOST of the problem comes just from your thumb wearing out but, you are right. It's a little more difficult than it should be.

Unfortunately, it's not been corrected.

You do know, that all you need to do is hold the fire button down? It will keep shooting non stop of you hold the button.

Yeah and that's normally what I do but, that stupid thing STILL hurts my finger after a while.

Oh by the way, I love this ride but have you ever sort of "lost" which laser was yours in all the lots of them in the room? I think they should put a little fog in the room so you could see your laser from the gun to the target.

This was our DS4's absolute favorite at MK! The first time we went on it was Mommy and DS on one laser gun and Daddy on the other.

I found the button kind of hard to use as well, even holding it down for rapid fire. Plus, I couldn't tell where our gun was aimed at (too many lasers). So I had no idea what targets we hit. But regardless of those things, we still had a "blast" (yeah, pun intended). DS and I got Ranger First Class and he was very proud when I told Buzz after we got out and went over for his autograph. Buzz gave him the thumbs up sign. DH got a higher score than DS and I, but kept it to himself rather than tell Buzz.

Our DS made sure that BLYRS was the first ride we did at MNSSHP on the 31st.

you know the mural on the wall above the ride vehicles as you're heading into the ride itself? It shows a score example...and the score is my actual birthdate.

Holding down the fire button is a good way to wear out your thumbs!! :rotfl: but effective too!

and I agree with previous posting that a little fog to help track the laser beam would be great, especially when you're aiming for the "big" hits like the ones that get you 100K per hit!

We rode in December last year and May this year, and honestly I didn't notice any changes...good, or bad. Although in May we got stuck twice because of teens jumping out of the vehicles causing mayhem. :sad2:

figgy

It is possible that for one gun in one car the button might be hard to push but more likely the button will get stuck down shooting continuously as opposed to simply hard to push.

With a little practice and also bending your head down to use the ridges on top of the gun like a gunsight you might see your red spot more clearly among everyone else's.

This one is quite fun. In the second room aim across to the right at the volcano.

As you leave the room with Zurg on the right, turn around backwards and aim at the target at the bottom of his pulpit. Shoot sooner and the gun won't bend down that far. Fetch 'ya a lotta points.

Thanks all for the info, even if it is not what I wanted to hear. It is a stupid little thing, but it does detract from an otherwise great ride. They operated much easier 3 or 4 years ago.

the thing that has always bothered me is that I CANNOT tell where my gun is aimed. the lasers are so little that all you see is a little red dot on the wall/etc. It is hard for me to know which one is mine when there are TONS of red dots on the wall.

Me too!! But I love the ride. Watching my DS who is 6 makes it one of my favorite rides in WDW

this is why I mentioned they should add a little bit of fog. Fog would allow you to follow your laser across the entire room. It wouldn't take much at all for the effect to be made.

I just came back found it much, much harder this time than last year, or the year before that. Not sure whether they're not maintaining the weapons, or I'm just getting significantly worse. May be that it pales in comparison to Men in Black, which is essentially the same ride at Universal, but a little more sophisticated.

My 13 year old nephew went on over and over and over again, though!

That was the main problem I had when I rode the ride at Disneyland. It was frustrating. Next time I ride, though, I'm definitely holding the button and never letting go. I'll beat my husband this time. Yep yep! It's on!

Unfortunately the one at Universal (in my opinion) is MUCH more sophisticated.

If any of you subscribe to TGM, he has some really great tips.

I completely agree! I love MIB and I can always tell where I'm shooting on that ride. I get so frustrated on Buzz - I can never see my laser! :sad2:

I still enjoy the ride but I was really hoping they'd fix that during the rehab!

Next time they rehab Buzz they need to make the handsets removable like the ones at DL !!! :smooth:

Same problem here! We rode 3x in a row in Sep. and then had to take a break because our thumbs hurt :thumbsup2 :sad2:

I can never find my stupid laser dot. I think I have found it only to realize that it is someone else!

I noticed the last time we were there that all you had to do was keep the trigger button pushed instead of pumping it. It still seems more difficult to me though. At Disneyland in Cal. you are able to remove the gun from the console so that you can actually aim it at things! MUCH BETTER! they are attached by cords. I wish DW would do that! Helen
