The thing I am most curious about with the Gorrliapod is how compact is it when not extended? It looks like a lot of fun but I am running out of room in my bag. :)

I've been wondering the same thing for much the same reason.

Well, this is disappointing. I ordered the DSLR Gorillapod from a company in Canada and was hoping they'd be able to ship it to me before my DL vacation. They replied today (I ordered it on the weekend) that they didn't have it in stock so they wouldn't be able to ship it to me by next week. Bah, that's why I picked a Canadian company.

Anyway, I cancelled my order in case I find it between now and next week. Unfortunately, they seem to be the only people who are offering the DSLR version. Even B&H is only offering the compact one, as far as I can see.

Does anybody know of place in Anaheim/Los Angeles that would sell this?

Otherwise I guess, I'll reorder when I get back. :(

Quite honestly, I wouldn't trust Gorillapod to hold my $3,000 dSLR body + lens.

LOL...I don't have a $3000 dSLR Body and Lens though.

Well, I wondered about it but it's supposed to be able to handle the slr I'll tell ya that if I ever get one and use it, the first few times it's wrapped around something, the camera strap is going to stay firmly on my neck...just in case. I do that anyway with a tripod if I'm in a position to do so.

I also have a compact digital camera and a smallish video camera that will probably work with it too so....the possibilties are endless.... IF I could only find one. Argh
