A portion of our vacation will be in Vegas. We plan on buying tickets on wayfrom Vegas to our hotel in Hunigton Beach. I know it is best to buy the tickets online, however we have a few family members that want to keep their options open depending on how tired we may be from vegas. Where is it best to buy the tickets at the park? Should we drop someone off (then drive around for 10-15 minutes)to buy them at the main gate? Or is it possible to buy the tickets closer to the street or Disney parking lot?

Added comments: I forgot to mention we are only looking at one or two day park hoppers. we will also be there next week.

Is it possible to buy them in the lobby of the hotels (like the grand californian)?

I don't know when you are going or how many members in your party will need to buy tickets at the (more expensive) gate price. But if it's soon, you might check online at the nearby hotels if you want the lowest price. http://www.ramadamaingate.com/disneyland/ seems to have the old prices; if you have 3 or 4 members of your party, the cost savings might be worth the inconvenience.

If you have AAA, you might find tickets cheaper at an office there, if you'll be in the vicinity of an office on the way? I believe AAA tickets usually come with free parking (ours did), so if you will be driving to the parks and don't already have free parking, they will be worth it. You could call before your trip starts.

If you have Costco there can be some great deals in the Southern California stores. (I don't, so I don't know if there are any deals going now.)

There could also be passes at the regular grocery store, though those might not be a savings over the gate price? I'm really not sure; maybe they're the same price as online....

Have a great trip!

Just a couple of more ideas in addition to those by the PP.

The Disney store may have hoppers ready to purchase at a discount (at least, ours does, still old pre-purchase pricing, too).

If you can get internet/printing access (a local library is a great place for this), then you can still get the online discount, print there and take them straight to the turnstiles.

Finally, if you want to give getawaytoday a call and explain the situation, they may be able to tell you how far in advance you would need to purchase in order for them to have your name on the list at the ticket booth. Then, just call them and order the tickets within the timeframe they specified (no computer or printout needed).

Good luck! And try your best not to pay gate prices. :)

I called the Von's in Anaheim and they sale 3 day park hoppers for 159! :) That's what we will be doing! :goodvibes
