We are thinking og getting an Ipod for our oldest DD8 almost 9 and some speakers to hook it up to for her room for christmas. I have found a 4th generation nano (pink) that has been refurbished on ebay with free shipping for a really great price- but I am leary about getting it- anybody have experience doing something like that?? It does have a 60 day warranty. THoughts??

I would just say to check the seller's feedback and their return policy. I got a Nintendo DS off of Ebay a few weeks ago. The seller had 100% feedback so I went ahead and got it. It is in excellent condition and was a great find. Also, buy with Paypal, that gives you some protection in case anything goes wrong. If it is a Buy It Now - go through bing.com to get 8% cashback on your purchase. Good luck!

I second buying a refurbished unit from Apple. I bought my Touch as a refurb, and it's been great. (knocking wood)

I've bought at least 10 refurbs off of the Apple store in the past few years, for myself, my son and for gifts, and they're all still going strong. I highly recommend them! :thumbsup2

Just curious, how much memory does the refurbished one have, and what are they going for?

Ditto! :goodvibes I've got two refurbed iPods and a Mac Mini that are operating great! I've actually had less problems from the refurbished ones than I have for the nano I bought new for DD10 2 years ago. :lmao:

It varies with whatever stock they have on hand. You can check out what's available in the Refurbished area on Apple's site here: http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals?mco=Nzc1MjQ2MQ

I agree with getting a refurb directly from Apple. I did this 2 years ago. Comes with the Apple warranty also.

Just wondering, my daughter has a brand new ipod, I think its the one with the largest memory, that has barely been used. I'm gonna put it on ebay, and I was wondering what they are going for.

I second the buy directly from Apple. You get a full warranty that way.

Bought Oldest DS' off there last year and it's still going strong. Bought one for Middle DS for Christmas we'll see what happens with that one.

I bought mine off ebay and have not had any problems. I agree you should check the seller's reputation and invest in a square trade warranty. I got mine for around $90.00 :thumbsup2 If you would like the sellers name PM me please;)

No, way.. i did just that but i bought a new one on ebay for a good price... it was a fake eventually i got most of my money back and then i just bought a referbished directly from apple and that way you get the warrenty w/ it too (i have had 2 ipods go to heck 2 months after i got them). NO way will I EVER buy an ipod on ebay again!

I bought my son a refurbished Zune (Microsoft version of Ipod) from Ebay and the power button wouldn't turn the stupid thing off. I got a refurbished on for same price with car charger and leather case from newegg.com and it works great. I would look there. Oh but I did get the money back from the ebay seller. He was great to deal with.

Do a completed items search on your particular ipod on eBay, specifying that it is not NEW. That way you can see what they're selling for.

Id go to apple dot com instead....you can get refurbs thru them and they are GREAT about any issues if they develop, its where we bought ours...no issues, fast and easy, plus use your credit card to pay for it, double the warranty with most cards. :thumbsup2
