If u were to by a ticket from undercover tourist how long from when u purchased the ticket until when u have to use it? Can u upgrade to waterparks when u get there?

Unused MYW tickets purchased from Undercover Tourist will be good for however long you hold them. The clock doesn't start running on expiring tickets until they are first used.

As far as upgrades, yes, you can add the WPF&M feature when you get to WDW. With a discounted ticket like those from UT, you should use the ticket at least once to enter a park before doing the upgrade. That will get you credit for the full gate price of the ticket toward your upgrade. If you don't use the ticket first you will get credit only for what UT paid to Disney; which will be less than what you paid and even less than the full gate price.
