Hey all,

I talked to a Member Services person who said that she can’t guarantee that Park Hopper will be back by January of next year, despite the fact that they are selling it. She said it couldn’t be refunded if we bought park hopper tickets from them or anyone else. A few questions for folks given this:

1) How easily can you upgrade a base ticket to a park hopper ticket if you buy a basic ticket?
2) How easily can upgrade a base ticket from a non-Disney provider, like Undercover Tourist?

Thanks for the help DVC friends!

I have upgraded Ut tickets to AP before so making it a park hopper should not be an issue,

Try to remember that DVC CMs have to share that it is unclear about hopping because they aren’t really part of it.

Right now, all they know is what Disney has published and that is the hope hopping is back in 2021.

Disney is currently refunding park hopping if it isn't available when you visit.

My daughter had bought for her upcoming trip from UT prior to the shutdown. She first called UT about a refund on the hopping and they referred her to Disney.

The rep she spoke to at Disney thought that hopping might return by the time my daughter takes her trip and gave her a reference code to use at guest services if it wasn't. That was back in June.

Fast forward to yesterday and it's pretty obvious that hopping isn't going to return in time for her Labor Day vacation. So rather than waste time waiting at guest relations, she called Disney again and requested her refund. Since she bought from UT, Disney is emailing her a gift card in the amount equal to hopping on her 8-day ticket.

I think that as long as they don't allow hopping, they will be refunding the difference in price. But you won't get it back on your CC if you bought from a third party ticket seller. You'll get a gift card.
