Ok, I know if you buy liquor/wine while in port they will hold it until the end of the cruise.....

I also know that I can buy a six pack in port and bring it back to my room.....

My question, if I want to buy beer to take home, like a 12 pack of cans, can I turn that in and get it back at the end of the cruise?

I work at a brewery and think it would be fun to pick up some beer in Nassau (even if it is bad) to bring home to coworkers.

Anyone have any first hand knowledge of this? My educated guess would say YES I can, but I would like to know if anyone knows for sure.

Thanks..

Q.
Are Guests allowed to bring alcoholic beverages on board the ship?

A.
Disney Cruise Line Guests 21 years and older may bring a maximum of 2 bottles of unopened wine or champagne (no larger than 750 ml) or 6 beers (no larger than 12 ounces) on board at the beginning of the voyage and at each port of call. These beverages must be packed in carry-on (not checked) bags or luggage.

Guests wishing to consume wine or champagne that they have brought on board in one of the dining rooms will be charged a corking fee of $25.00 per bottle.

Please note:

  • Any alcohol packed in checked luggage will be removed and stored until the end of the cruise.
  • All alcohol brought onboard must be in an original unopened container. Partially used bottles and those in which the seal has been broken will be destroyed and no compensation will be offered.
  • Any wine or champagne in excess of 2 bottles or beer in excess of 6 beers will be stored until the end of the cruise.
  • Bringing liquors and spirits (including powdered alcohol) on board is prohibited. These items will be stored until the end of the cruise.
  • Guest MUST retrieve any stored alcohol at the end of the cruise. Items not retrieved will be destroyed and no compensation will be offered.
  • Alcohol brought on board may not be consumed in any lounge or public area.

Please note that the Disney Cruise Line alcohol policy is subject to change without notice.

Pirate Republic Brewing in Nassau makes very good beer and they are steps away from the port.

Awesome. You can store some in your belly to. They only know what you declare as well.

You and your spouse (or someone over 21 who is with you) could each bring one 6-pack back onboard.
Another possibility would be to get off the ship, get 1 6-pack, bring it onboard, then go back to port and purchase another 6 pack and bring that onboard.

This is the information I was looking for :) Thought I saw it somewhere and then must have overlooked it, thanks for reposting it for me.

YES! This is what we were wanting to check out. We don't remember this from our past visits to Nassau so this will be something new for us!

Indeed, we plan on grabbing some for ourselves as well! My question was about purchasing in excess of that amount which we have the answer now :)

in our experience, they were not very strict about the alcohol rules on our cruise on the Magic two weeks ago. My dad brought about 12 beers onboard in Miami, and then a friend bought a 12 pack in key west. Yes, he was with another adult. Someone in our group reported seeing someone roll a cooler full of mixed drinks (soda, water, beer) onboard. no one was counting.

Interesting report about the cooler. I thought coolers were only allowed (small ones) for medications, baby food and items related to dietary restrictions. Nice to hear they are relaxing the rules a bit.
