buying from mypoints

I have a stupid question. If you get a mail from mypoints offering 200 pts or whatever to buy something thru a merchant, do you get the 200 pts, plus 2 pts for every dollar spent? I was going to buy something thru Eddie Bauer anyway, then I got an e-mail saying if I went thru that promo I would get so many pts. How does that work? Thanks Cristen

Generally, special point values are in a different "category." You usually will not earn points per doller in addition to specific point promotions.
