I'm going to US and IOA, one day for both, and it will be either christmas eve or the day after christmas. And I have a few questions..
I know its a crowded time but which day would be the least crowded?
The three of us were just there in April and we had FOTL and went on everything many times so it doesn't matter as much what rides we get to go on BUT we have two people with us that have never even been to an Orlando theme park before. And we definitely have only 1 day, there's no way around it. Would buying the express pass plus be worth it? It's expensive and only for one park but i think we might need it. My plan is to go to IOA bright and early and get everything done there and move on to US so I'm thinking about buying it for US. Is that the best way to go? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately, because of how big the crowds will be, I think Express is the only way to go if you can't go two days and stay onsite.

It's too bad they are so expensive...it would be equivilent (or at least, close enough) to the cost of a room at RPH where you could get 2 days of FOTL.

But, if you are taking people who haven't been before and want to make sure they get to see and do as much as possible, then yes...Express lines may be a bit long too though...but not as long as the regular...just expect a wait for everything either way...

Would you be buying it as a christmas gift???? LOL... just kidding.

I have to agree. That will be a BUSY BUSY day. Definitely buy it.

Christams eve will have the smaller crowd, and should have the combo express available. That will allow you to express both parks and hit what you want.

The day after Christmas will be VERY BUSY (45-90 minute waits). The parks will be open till 10 or 11, and you will not have the combo express option.

Choose wisely.

Isn't it great that we have people like Marauder here??? :D

I truly appreciate the insite that you give us!

yeah it is great!
but.. i called universal today and after the lady's computer froze twice she finally found out that they aren't offering express pass plus on the 24th or 26th. I've decided to go the 24th anyway because of what Marauder said about the crowds and ordering some kodak cameras with the express in them.

The kodak camera express would be a very good thing. It will help greatly, especially when combined with free express.

Plus you'll want to take lots of pics!

I am planning to vist the Universal on the 26th December and was able to purchase express passes via the univeral vacations site for this date.

Have to admit that this post has got me a bit worried now - any opinions on whether they will honour these tickets (I have received confirmation of puchase and payment has been processed)?

Given I'm an international ticket only guest, I have to pick up my tickets from Guest Relations - has anyone got any experience of this and do you know if it is possible to pick up the tickets, say 1 week in advance, of you planned visit?

Thanks in advance for your help.
