Hi

I was just wondering if anyone who has had experience of buying camcorders has found it cheaper to get them there (in Florida), or if it would be cheaper to get it off the internet before we go?

Thanks in advance

Hi
Below are a few threads relating to buying in Florida I have contributed to there are probably more if you search.
I would say if you are a good online shopper and know where to look, use a cash rebate site like rpoints or Quidco then the deals are in this country to equal or beat US prices. If you just go to Comet or Currys and Pay retail price then no its cheaper in US.
Things to remember are Warranty in UK, Plug for charging, tax to add on to US prices and need to discard packaging so you dont pay import duty on return to UK, some post receipts back home so they are not in possession of anything to prove its been bought in US.
I prefer to buy before I go so I can get used to the features.
If you do manage to find a deal in US I doubt it will save enough to compensate the downside of buying over there but depends on personal finances.
Good luck

I have quite a few bad reports on a couple of companies based on IDrive that sell cameras and I presume camcorders so personally I would avoid these shops and stick to the well known retailers on retail parks or in malls.
