December 2017 I decided to buy Copper Creek points direct... contract was mailed to me. I got a bit nervous when I started thinking about a post on these boards regarding the total number of points to be sold at copper creek and the percentage of those points represented by the cabins. This translated to a huge number of points, but the average points being purchased were no where near enough to use cabins, meaning a lot of people who would never rent cabins, competing with each other for limited smaller rooms, especially studios.
I panic bailed on the deal and bought resale Boulder Ridge, and bought minimal direct points to get member benefits.
Best decision I have made in a long time. My suspicion was proven true when I started looking at booking availability for Copper Creek.
I've been monitoring the Copper Creek studio availability and it is horrible. Spotty day here/day there availability this coming october/november/december. People have to walk reservations to get anything.
Buy resale and if you want to buy direct points for the membership benefits I would select another resort and get on a waitlist if needed.
Polynesian/Bay Lake Tower/Grand Floridian all have deed end dates >= 2060
