DH and I decided to call **** ***** and have him check on what we want to buy, DVC resale. We decided on BWV, 150 points, March Use Year. I am so excited that he is looking at this for us, but nervous!

Anyone have experience with **** ***** and Jaki Apetz for DVC resale? They seem like the best people and we feel comfortable going with them for the resale. Where can I check out their credentials, besides their website which has clients' testimonials?

Is it normal to be nervous when buying a resale?

We are working with them right now and they are great! We had a problem with the sellers on our first contract that we started at the end of June and Jaki was great and found us another contract so we had to start over in July. They are both just really nice people and quick to respond to any questions. Waiting on ROFR made me a little nervous but it went through very quickly. We are now waiting to close.

We bought through Jaki years ago. She did a fine job. The process - like many resale processes - had its bumps and took longer than I'd have liked (buying DVC resale is a little like waiting for your water to break when pregnant), but none of the bumps were Jaki's.

Yep - and I'd highly recommend them. We used them to buy a VWL resale contract earlier this year. Both were extremely responsive to all contact - I would hear back from them all days of the week - even weekends. When I started getting nervous **** even video taped footage from WL just to remind me about what I was getting. They are very nice people and were a pleasure to work with. :thumbsup2

Yes, we were VERY nervous! Our 1st contract was through resale in 2006 with The TimeShare Store. We'd only heard of TTS and Resales DVC through the DIS boards, didn't even know if they were legit companies - and we're from another country. That made it us REALLY nervous sending them a bank draft for a large sum! Would you send large amounts of $ to a broker you don't have any experience with in another country? Well, we thought we wouldn't . . . but resale was the way for us to go, so we braved it.

However, the transaction went well. We failed ROFR once and passed on our 2nd attempt. The transaction was smooth and TTS was very professional. We went with TTS over Resales DVC as TTS had more listings for what we were looking for - otherwise we would've had no problem going with Resales DVC.

You won't have a problem.

We are using them right now as we wait for ROFR. They have been wonderful. We bought 150 at the BWV also. Congrats on your upcoming contract!

We have freiends that bought there DVC through Jaki and were very pleased. We are working with **** and Jaki now and are just waiting on ROFR. I have nothing but positive to say about them both. They answered all of our questions and have always gotten back to us quickly by both phone and email. I would highly recommend them. :thumbsup2

Well hello there future BWV "neighbor"!!! ;)

Glad to hear all of the positive feedback about Jaki and ****. Now we know we are making the right decision going with a resale!! We are saving so much money, and we only need 150 points so the 160-point minimum directly through DVC is not necessary for us anyway. Thanks again everyone!!

We are using them right now. They are GREAT!!!! Jaki is working with us and she returns all of our calls in a reasonable time. All of our questions have been answered and I feel very comfortable with everything she has said and done. Would not hessitate to recommend either one of them to anybody looking for resales.:thumbsup2

We are working with **** and Jaki on one property and have just put an offer on another one we liked. We'd found something similar elsewhere, but these folks had a better deal, and the great praise they've received here makes this a pretty easy decision.

Cheers.

The "big 3" resale brokers mentioned in this post are all highly reputable. We bought our first contract from dvcbyresale.com (Shontell) and it went swimmingly.

I'd point out that the good DVC contracts go FAST, like in minutes sometimes. Know what you want, have your money in liquid form for the earnest money and watch for their emails; be prepared to call immediately.

Thanks for the advice! We have all the money for the entire contract set aside, just waiting for the perfect one!! We are awaiting their phone call, and I check email constantly! The one thing that makes me nervous is that we go back to work on Thursday, so we won't be home all day to receive the call! I will call **** on Wednesday and give him my cell phone number and check voice mail constantly!! So we are all ready, just waiting for that call!

I feel very comfortable with our decision to go with **** now that I have heard all this positive feedback. Thanks to everyone!!

Well, DH and I decided that we would take either a March or an April UY. We talked about it yesterday and decided that either would be ideal. So I called **** this morning to tell him. Not even 20 minutes go by, I kid you not, and I get a call that there is a 150-point BWV contract with April UY available!! We made an offer and the seller accepted. **** warned me that sometimes it takes a day or 2 for the seller to get back to you, but it only took a couple of hours. He is emailing us the contract to sign and we will be on our way.

I am hoping and praying this passes ROFR! I did not expect to find anything so soon! Now the wait for ROFR. Once it passes (hopefully) we will feel great! Then if closing takes a little while it is okay, we will be patient. And if we do not pass ROFR for some reason this time, we will find another contract. Patience is what it takes. And time. And we have time. Patience is another story...but we are trying to be patient!!!

Wow, I can't believe it is really happening! I can't wait to become a member and get all those materials!!!
