Buying Disney tickets

We're going to Disney Land this summer! I want to buy 3 3-day park hoppers. I bought 1,000 in Disney giftcards at Target using my redcard and RX rewards (I got them like 2 weeks before they stopped taking them :cool1:) I went to my local Disney store to buy the tix and they only sell tickets to Disney World! Will I have any problems bringing 20 50.00 giftcards and buying tickets at the park entrance?? Is there anywhere else I could buy the tickets from with my gift cards before we leave? Also I have heard something about getting pictures taken when you go through the gates. Do they do this daily or just your first day?

You could just buy directly from Disney online and print your tickets at home (not as exciting since it is on computer paper; however they do trade them out for a smaller, more compact business card ticket at the gate).

The last time we went multi-day Disney took our picture at the gate on our first entrance. It then popped up every time we entered the park using that park ticket for the 3 days we were there. Only have to smile once for the cameras!

Though it's a pain, I'd take the gift cards and do it there. Like you said, online will only take one card. You could call, over the phone they will take plenty, just depends on how much time you have for tickets to arrive. I did this same thing at wdw last month & took $2000 worth of $50 gift cards. The resort took as many as I needed & so did dcl.

Depending on when you will be arriving and where you'll be staying (near the parks or farther away?), you could easily stop by the ticket booths the night before you plan to enter the parks. At least one booth stays open for an hour after park closing, and the lines usually aren't long that late. You can use as many gift cards as you like at the ticket booths without any problems.

If you won't be able to do this the night before your visit or if you'll be staying far from the parks, then calling is probably your best option.

I just used 4 gift cards to buy a ticket last week. You can save a little time by removing the gift cards from the paper backing before you get there. They do have to run each gift card as it's own transaction with it's own receipt, so it took about 15 minutes with only 4 gift cards. As long as you don't show up 10 minutes before Magic Morning and expect to get in within those 10 minutes it should be fine.

They take your picture at the gate before you actually enter, then they scan and check your ticket each time you park hop. It takes no more than a minute.

why not go to the disney store and trade all 20 in for One Gift card?

I went into my local Disney store and they told me I could not buy a gift card with gift cards. They would not do it. I wish they would because I am paying for my hotel and tour with them. I have 12 ($50 ea) so far and still need many more.

Great idea to buy the tix the night before! We are staying across the street so it will be convenient. I can let the rest of the family check out DTD while I get the tickets taken care of :thumbsup2
