Buying Disney pins

For those of you who pin trade, where do you get your pins from?

It's hard to find good lots of pins. I found one fellow on ebay from the Disney Collectors Board on the Disboards.

They have a list of good pin traders on ebay who don't sell bad pins.

I just found someone else I'm thinking of trying on facebook of all places. If you search on facebook for Disney Pins 1.15 and up her page will pull up. She does a ton of pin trading in the parks which is where she gets her pins. She is on youtube too.

The Disney Store outlets are also a good source if you have one near you. I just picked up a bunch at about $1.50 each with the confidence that they aren't counterfeit.

We do get some on eBay but you need to be very careful . Read the reviews and ratings you don't want to get stuck with junk pins . My Dh also goes to a site I think its called pintraders . Be warned pin trading can become addictive but you meet wonderful people .

I would be so broke if I lived anywhere close to a Disney Store outlet . What a great find .

If you buy pins off Ebay not knowing they are counterfeit- they could or couldn't be- how can you tell- also going into Disney Parks and trading - will CM know if they are or not?- Just want to be sure I don't get the bad one's also.

Unfortunately the majority of CM's don't know, or don't care enough to know, much about scrappers, I have hundreds of pins, many are scrappers that were received from CM's. This is the main reason I don't pay higher prices for pins to trade, I buy from eBay but I buy from sellers I've used and have received good pins from or I use the green list on the thread linked in my signature. I'm realistic in the knowledge that I'm going to get scrappers from CM's but I don't let that stop me.

When looking for pins to trade: I look for sets that are on sale with a low cost to pin ratio. More pins less $$$. I don't look at what the pin is.

I shop online at Disney Store and in the Parks when I am there
