Buying Disney Dinning Plan and Tickets Discount?

Any chance of a link to this a when I type in disneyworld.disney.go.com/special offers it does not show the page your seeing?

I doubt you will be able to see this page since you aren't a DVC member, Passholder or a Florida resident. Yet. ;)

Try typing in this to your address bar - it worked for me and I wasn't logged in to the Members' website:

disneyworld.com/special-offers

I found that p[age but it did not show me a login page, it just shows me the current offers?

I know I am not a member yet but I would assume I would see the same login page you have in the previous posts.

I get the page but there is an option at the top that if you click on it you will get what you see on the other post. But then you must sign in to see the actual offers for DVC, Passholders and FL residents. At least that's what happens for me.

Specifically what are you looking for? Special offers expire and change.

Exactly. I use an IPad. I don't know how different it looks on a PC, but this is the page.

I logged in both as myself on DVC and without a log in. I got exactly the same offers. But the last two were specifically for members of the military and had to provide that information. So I don't think the PP got a discount on non-DVC rooms because of being a DVC member, but just by getting a general discount available on special offers.

Since the title of this thread is about Dining Plan and ticket discounts is it against board rules to let the OP know if there are any pertinent discounts or not?

So, because you didn't see one in September, that means that I didn't get one when I booked in June?

Question about dining plans... So my friend always books her trips when there is the free a Disney dining plan when you book a certain trip.... Do DVC members ever get similar offers? For free dining when booking certain dates, or no? Thanks!

No "Free" dining when booked on points.

DVC members can take advantage of free dining just like anyone else can, by booking a package that contains a non-discounted room and tickets.

Just as an example - I could have gotten free dining last November by booking a BWV studio for over $400 per night (non-discounted rate) and buying a 2 day ticket (I already had a PAP). Another option was an AP rate of $285 per night with no dining included. Or use 15 DVC points per night, no dining included, and using my PAP (the $399 special). Guess which option I chose?

This. Some people just can't wrap their minds around the fact that "free" dining is NOT free.

But to be fair a lot of them are only going once a year and can walk away the next year to go somewhere else without the hefty up-front investment and yearly dues associated with DVC. Me? I love our DVC.

It's more of a case in the UK if they give free dinning then the cost of being a DVC member just does not stack up as the upfront costs and dues mean it would take nearly 30 plus years to break even and that's on resell, if you buy direct it would cost more then just booking without being an owner.

I guess all the time they offer free dinning people from the UK will not be tempted to buy DVC.

Example, if I go with my family of four I can stay at saratoga springs one bedroom for two weeks for just over 3000 pounds if I book well in advance, the dinning plan saves around 2600 pounds, so for 3000 pounds I get resort and food for four for two weeks, no that is a bargain.

I do admit you have to book 11 months out.

Seems to me that people in the UK do get some pretty good offers and have wondered why they would consider a DVC purchase. There appears to be many UK owners so there must be some benefits other than financial for them. Maybe it's just about owning a piece of the magic.

Maybe they buy a desired resort. We have met many people from the UK primarily at OKW and SSR travelling on packages as you describe. Maybe that is because those are the only resorts available?

Maybe its because the dinning plan was not offered for free at the time?

We love SSR as its close to Downtown Disney and you can walk round in the evening and have a meal and a beer.

Is it just available at SSR? Or other DVC resorts? I've heard of it at SSR because they have a hard time filling cash rooms there. I just saw a post on facebook where someone got upgraded from CBR to a SSR 1 bedroom for free. Happens a lot during September free dining because it's a slow time of year for DVC.
