Thinking about investing into DVC. I've had several conversations with the sales team so I pretty much know what is involved. My question is, can you see the contract before the down payment is paid? Thanks
We received our contracts to read, signed them, returned them, got our points , booked our trip.
To date we've not paid a single penny.
It might well be be different though given we're in the UK.![]()
I have, but I feel in the long run, it would be better to go direct right now for my first buy. Thanks

Actually, with the incentives, there is very little difference in price right now and not being able to book Riviera or newer resorts with resale points is huge in my book, as are the other restrictions that come with resale. We have used points for cruises, RCI, etc. When they were the best option for us to use.Have you also looked at buying resale? There is VERY little benefit to buying directly from Disney at the moment - and buying resale will save you thousands - if not ten of thousands - of dollars.
I see this comment a lot but anyone can still stay at RIV or new resorts, you would need to rent your points out and rent some RIV in, but to say its a huge factor is over-selling that perk to me.Actually, with the incentives, there is very little difference in price right now and not being able to book Riviera or newer resorts with resale points is huge in my book, as are the other restrictions that come with resale. I have to admit I'm not sure how I did it! I do know that less than 24 hours after posting this I had a call from DVC about payment!Would love to know how you did this - pretty sure it's impossible. I don't believe you can even start the process without providing a down payment. At least that was the case with our direct purchase. Maybe there's some bizarre consumer protection law in the UK?
No loan company involved at all and will be paying it off directly. I did say I want the maximum 3 months to pay it all though so I can monitor the exchange rate and make the payment at the best possible time which they agreed. We're also in the UK but we definitely had to pay before we got any points. I thought the points came through slightly slower because of our 14 day cooling off period? Have you arranged this through a loan company, so they have paid for it but you haven't started making repayments yet? Or are you intending to pay it off directly?

This is not true, at least with a cash purchase. We gave them CC info for a 10% deposit and then called the next day to schedule the remaining payment (split over different cards). In fact everything is due a little over 2 weeks after the contract is signed.Yes. In fact, you can't pay anything for 14 days (it might be 16 days) until after everything is signed anyway![]()
