We will see short term might have a bump as people always overreact.

I don’t think it’s overreacting. For many, like the disabled, there is now no reliable transportation method. For families, this is straight hassle on a trip this expensive. I don’t think that’s overreaction. Transportation is a major thing, and ME had it down.

I’m a crazy Disney fan like everyone else here, but I’m not married to one. Once my spouse is hauling car seats anyway, and with all the other cuts, we might as well go to Europe for the cost. I can’t justify Disney or DVC the way I used to be able to. I can honestly see selling a contract or two next year, and I just closed one. This is very sad to me, as WDW is my happy place.

Where else you thinking of staying? Can you do without CCV and do BLT instead? Are you always going in December?

Issue with December is you might not be able to ever really split your stay unless you are okay with SSR or OKW which at that point might as well buy there on resale and save more money.
This is a really good point. Early December is a time to try to book home resort and have zero expectation of splitting a stay or switching at 7 months. Off-property points and people who didn't get their home resort (CCV and BRV owners primarily, but trow some VGF in as well) who really want those weeks are all in the mix at 7 months and the odds are rarely in your favor. Because there is so little available people who booked home resort don't switch and open up spaces, either. Waitlists fill on cancels.

If you want to travel early December and split stays you need to own at each resort. It is not a time for sleeping around at 7 months. Travel in May for that.

You are an optimist. Lots of people are getting blocked from studios and 1BRs at
I am curious which one you purchased. I think for the price, CCV is the better buy, then you can add on resale at BRV. I also might entertain the idea of fixed week if you think there is a week every year you would like to go. Comparing BRV direct with BRV resale, it is definitely a resale purchase. CCV gives your kids years to enjoy together.

I say over reaction based on majority of people upset now that will find after they see the final result by 2023 it wouldn't be something they would sell over.

Options will start to surface and just like park reservations people will slowly back away from it being a terrible thing. Getting a towncar and such will actually be an improved experience even with needing to tip someone for help with your bags in MCO.

Downside is increased cost but with DVC it should be removed for our MFs so there is a small benefit there.

They are talking about CCV which is now having 1BR issues as well. The 1BR shortage could mostly be from COVID shutdown but who knows how long those points take to work out of the system.

There have been 1BR issues in prior years, so I don't think it is shutdown. I think it is all the buyers who bought for decor in early December, plus those cabin points in play.

The 1BR don't go at 8am but they do go very fast, and it seems to be that once the studios are gone some book shorter stays in 1BR to get the booking.

I have been able to book the 1 bed in 11 month window. I usually book the first or second week my 11 month window opens.

I hope Disney is reading this.

It really was very important to those traveling with wheelchairs. Accessible vehicle rentals are limited as are accessible taxis. Having ME eliminated one of the difficulties that is experienced other places for accessible transportation. If someone has never done it it probably doesn't even cross a persons mind but it really is a pain.

I have a Fixed Week w Poly and even though never used, I like that option. Definitely, if available, the CCV FW sounds like a very good choice.

This makes me so sad. My spouse was very reluctant about Disney at the start. After about the third trip, he started to really see the benefits. In his words “Disney seems to know what you need before you do.” The arrival of band to your home, the ME, transportation around the parks, ordering and paying through MB’s, EMH’s, airline check in, all of that made everything so easy. We could justify the expense because literally NO OTHER PLACE offered that level of guest experience. Why would anyone continue to pay such a high price tag for stripped down experience?

That’s a sad question many are asking ourselves today.

CCV is great. If you want a studio there you need to own there. Everyone overhypes the availability there. It is competitive but not unreasonable. I never walk (hate the walking concept) and I have gotten studios every time i have wanted (4 times so far), and one bedrooms are easy to get prior to seven months. It is the last resort you can buy direst with no restrictions. It lets you relax from the nearby park chaos when you need it.

Hi all:

So I was sold on buying BRV given the set expiration date (don't have to worry about passing on the dues liability to my kids), as well as the size of the villas and the booking issues being experienced at CCV.

However my wife now says she thinks CCV is better due to the 26 more years (as another poster suggested) for the premium of $4,250. Granted, the extra dues associated with the extra life will be $40k+ incremental. I guess we do get the luxury of getting SOME money back if we decide to sell vs 2042 expiration.

Need your advice on this. Will I be miserable dealing with CCV availability in December? Or is the 26 years for $4.2k too good to pass up?
Go for CCV. 26 more years. Its more dues but you can always sell it. BRV will have no value when it expires. CCV with 26 years left will still have tons of value. Just look at what BRV, BCV and BWV is selling for now. Thats what that extra $4,250 is worth now. Don't kick yourself. CCV makes much more sense. I just bought there and stayed Dec 26-30th. Booked it in October this year. I know its tough but if you watch availability you always have a chance. Plus if you can't get CCV BRV seems to have availability at times if you watch it like a hawk to book. Plus I think CCV availability is lessening up now thats its not brand new. Owners are trying new places and its easier to book. We also go in June and July and booking a studio there at 11 months was super easy on the first couple days I could book.

Everyone talks how hard it is to book at studio at CCV but I think the Beach Club is much harder. At least at 7 months it is. We loved CCV staying in December for our first time. I honestly had Dec 26th-Jan 4th booked but we decided on split stay half at CCV and half at BCV. I just picked up a day at a time and eventually got it all.

I own at BRV (bought resale), but I really like the CCV studios with the showers. I often try to swap my BRV studio for one at CCV at 7 months. I would buy at CCV for that reason alone. That said, the lobby and little sitting areas at BRV are really nice, though you can experience those if you walk over from CCV.
