If we purchase direct, who in our family is eligible for the AP? Kids are 22 and 18, are they eligible to purchase the AP? If there is a age limit (like under 21), would listing them on the deed be a workaround?

TIA

Anyone residing in your home has been eligible in the past. They need photo ID with the same address as the DVC owner.

If you're purchasing direct for the AP, I'd wait until the AP actually returns before purchasing.

There is zero guarantee they will return - despite what you might read on these boards - and many rumors floating about (some from credible sources) that say they are gone forever (at least in the current form).

No one knows when or if they will return or what the rules will be then.

They must reside in your home but can be any age, Adding them to the deed would make them eligible for life, but it is something to seriously consider as they become owners and have all the rights you do.

I did add my adult kids for this purpose…but they were 23 to 31 at the time, already out of college, and into life.

APs are not yet back on sale for new purchasers due to Covid, but there really has been nothing to suggest they won’t be back in some form considering they are selling to those eligible who had passes in 2020 and continuing to let current pass holders renew.
