Still um-ing and ah-ing whether to purchase this for May. Got it for free in August and know how it works.

However the more the value of the pound decreases in comparison with the dollar, the more of a good deal it sounds. Also for us Brits buying from the UK site (we have also booked our accommodation and tickets from them) seems like a good deal as they have not increased their prices in line with the exchange rate - it is still the same price as when we booked - £19.99 per person for the standard DDP - quick service is £15.99 - more expensive if you buy direct with Disney US. We intended eating more CS meals this year but don't think that the counter/quick service DDP is a good deal - only £4 more pp for the table service - but there's the tips - which can be a CS meal for all of us in itself. The one problem is my picky DD (14) - wish we could do just for 2 but can't. What would you do in these circumstances - it's supposed to be a 'cheapie' trip?

Another question I have - since I booked there's the deal around the free nights accommodation- it is cheaper now than when we booked in the Autumn -will disney.co.uk allow me to apply the discount to my existing booking or will I just embarrass myself by asking?

Hi,

Firstly nope they won't let you apply the discount to your existing booking :sad1:it says in T&Cs, you would have to cancel and rebook - you will then lose your deposit and maybe a bit more if you have already paid it off!

In terms of the DDP we are in the same position in Nov, we having a cheap week but love Signature dining so are prob going to go for it. If the $ is still as bad as it is at the mo it may be worth thinking about as your budget is set before you go. Could you use the CS some evenings and have a few 2 ts meals - do you like character meals or 1 or 2 nice signature restaurants? That way you only pay tips once or twice & you can always just pick up a small cheap snack for lunch some days and use your cs credit in the night?

This is exactly the reason we've added the QSDP to our booking in June.

It'll be our 1st time onsite at WDW and I don't think we'd like the restriction of the ADR's - we like to come and go as we please!!

Just a bit of info for you - the weekend we decided to call and add the QSDP to our booking I called Disney UK - ended up in call centre (India) I think(Possibly the Virgin one??). Operator was adamant that the QSDP was £19.99 and DDP £24.99. Couldn't understand why prices were different as still showing at old prices online (I'd checked before I called). She said that they'd been told prices on internet were wrong and to use the new prices!:confused3

Went away and still decided we'd book at 'new price' - even if it only meant break even, more for the convenice really- but guess what, called back Monday motning, UK call centre and £15.99 (thank you very much!) Invoice now arrived confirming plan at 'old price'. :cool1:

I'm not sure what the 'correct price' is. I know that different travel agents charge different prices but could never actually find the price info on Disney UK.

Good luck whatever you decide.pixiedust:

We are interested in Disney dining but curious as to what we can have. We enjoy character meals and was wondering if we could use our meal voucher or whatever for this. Any help?
