Buying BCV directly from DVC Disney

Hi was wondering if you could by BCV directly from Disney? I know it wouldn't be the best deal compared to Resale, however I think there might be some advantages. For one I really want to buy just a 100 points. If they would let me buy BLT for 100 I would already be a member but I guess they are not allowing a 100 point contract on this new resort. So our second resort would be one of the Boardwalk resort or Wilderness Lodge. So I was wondering if I could call my guide (even though we aren't a member, we have seen him a few times) and see if we can just say we want to buy but we only want one of these resorts. I don't think for us the end year for us is a big deal.

Does anyone have any idea how much they would charge for these resorts? Thanks!

BCV is $104 a point through DVC and there are no incentives for the 'sold out' resorts and you would have to waitlist it.

I don't think they allow smaller buy ins even at the sold out resorts.

However, once you own DVC they will sell small add ons (25 points if you pay upfront, 50 if DVC finances). So even if you buy a 25 point contract they will let you add on as few as 25 more points. Soon they are setting a 100 point minimum for BLT add-ons.

Your best bet is to look for a small resale contract at BCV that works for you. If you buy a 50 point resale you can add on 50 points through DVC (though you will likely have to waitlist).

The nice thing about adding on through DVC is you can get any point amount you want. So if you really need 104 points at BCV (studio for a week at cheapest times of year) you casn add on 54 points for example to get exactly what you want.

The previous poster is correct about making first initial DVC purchase directly through Disney - you wouldn't be able to purchase 100 points but would have to buy Disney's first buy-in minimum which I think is 160 points presently
( there was a promo but from what I know it ended on 9/20/08 that allowed a first buy-in at AKV for 100 points ).

If you are interested in purchasing 100 points or less for your first purchase you'd have to go resale route & do add-on contract(s) for additional points either directly through Disney as pp said or add-on(s) can be done via resale market as well if you wanted.

A resale add-on contract would have closing costs/fees & could take awhile for you to find a contract with same UY as your master contract if you wanted to have all your contracts with same Use Year. An add-on through Disney will not have closing costs/fees (although that could be subject to change) and Disney will give you add-on contract with same UY as your master contract.

On Jan 15 2009 an add-on purchase for BLT through Disney will increase from 25 point minimum to 100 point minimum ; at this time no other increase in add-on minimum at other DVC resorts has been announced.

:)

I just bought 100 point AKV last week. I too wanted to start off small and later do an add-on at BCV. So since I own AKV 100 points can I add 50 BCV points through disney? I know I would be waitlisted but once available am I correct I can do this?

Our initial buy in was in June for 100 AKL points and yes it was for Jambo. At that time we waitlisted for 100 BCV points with June UY. The points finally came through yesterday. We opted to go through Disney at the higher price for the convenience and we were in no hurry. Also helps that there are no closing costs for the add-on. I know we could have gotten cheaper through resale, but we wanted the same UY and all the ones we have seen have been stripped.
