I was thinking about getting several gift cards at Target to pay for APs. Can this be done? Has anyone had experience with doing it. Little bit of a hassle maybe, but it could save $80 off of 2..:teeth:

I bought mine 2 months ago with gift cards, was not a problem at all

Were you able to use multiple gift cards online or did you have to call and do it over the phone?

I called with mine, you absolutely can buy AP with gift cards. But, I combined them first as davper mentioned on the disney gift card website. One of the other reasons that I called was I was renewing and getting a DVC discount so it has to be done over the phone.

Thanks for the information. I didnt know you could combine the cards! That is awesome!! I have looked through that thread. Not sure I found anything i could apply to me. I dont have 5 prescriptions to transfer to Target to use that one and some of the other things people are doing like the eBay stuff, I didnt understand.. I am open to it though!

Some of the ideas do get complicated. One that I have done is to buy Target gift card(s) from raise.com at around a 4% discount. Then use that Target gift card to buy Disney gift cards from target.com. If you have your default payment method set to your RedCard you'll still get the 5% discount online even though you're paying with a Target gift card. (Disclaimer: I last did this over a year ago, so someone might correct me if that has changed). Then you end up with around a 9% discount instead. But, the one problem I ran into is that a number of the Disney gift cards I received from target.com were not activated, and it was quite a headache to get that all fixed. I've personally decided that just buying them in-store with the 5% discount is enough for me.

The prescription discount is gone. Start reading from page 540. It will most certainly apply to you.

I am beginning to think you are correct.

If you take the time to read and really get a hang of the process you can save 100% off your Disney expenses. I'm starting with $400 this time around and plan to pay for a $4,000 cruise with that original $400. It will take time and effort but it can and will be done.

I started reading the thread around page 540 and my brain was on overload!

You can still buy Disney gift cards at the Target website using Target gift cards, and as long as your account is tied to your RED card, you get 5 percent off. There are all sorts of ways to get target gift cards and save money, and while the one on the Disney gift card thread is a bit complicated (I am still learning how to use it!), I did save about 20% last year on our Disneyland vacation by using gift cards, and that was because I only started about 5 months in advance.

If your supermarket sells gas and gift cards, you can buy your Disney gift cards (or target) there, and save money at the gas pump. One of my co-workers waits until they are have points specials at the store, where they give you 4 or 5 times the number of points, and then picks up a few cards for an upcoming DIsney trip, and gets her gas for like $1 a gallon.

My store doesn't sell gas, so I have bought target cards at Raise.com or Cardpool.com, and then used them to get the Disney cards. I also used a link at TopCashback.com before going to to Raise or Cardpool, which got turned into an Amazon gift card (for my prime pantry delivery to the hotel). AND if you use your Disney Visa to pay for the gift cards, you get reward points that can be turned into another Disney Gift card.

I hope all of this made some sense, and is helpful.

Thank you for summarizing all of this! Looking through all the pages of that other thread are boggling! Especailly when you have to weed out all the "fights" :hyper2:
