Buying a new laptop...help

Hi. We need a new laptop b/c our desktop is shot. We want a laptop that's a bit better quality than the one I use(Compaq) mine was under $400. We want one with a webcam, Microsoft Office. Anyone have any good recommendations? Trying to keep it as cheap as possible, lol. It will be used for the kids homework mostly. Thanks

I have a Toshiba with all that on it. Bought it last summer. It has a 16" screen, webcame, Intel Core i3 processor. It is the Satellite A665 model and I paid about $600.00 for it.

Office 2010 is $105 at Amazon. Don't be fooled, openoffice is a joke. There is a reason it is free and Microsoft hasn't lost a dime in sales, it is awful. If you insist on a free version of Office, use the real thing. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/web-apps/?CTT=97

You need a Windows Live account, but otherwise it is free and the real deal. Just online, slow, and not nearly as useful. Still better than openoffice.

I didn't think they included anything other than trial versions of software anymore.

Dell and HP make very good laptops. Walmart and Best Buy will have the best prices.
