Buying a loaf of bread at Values?

That’s what we said. They had 1 case left and I happily snatched it. I saw another case in there yesterday. I think we may need another before our trip is over too. My daughter needed water and didn’t want to go to a quick service one day in the parks. The guy ended up giving her a free bottle because his gift card scanner quit working. That one bottle would have been almost the cost of our case
I never buy cases of water at disney but i actually might have to start doing this. Its a money saver and a great idea. As long as the water cases isnt the Dasani brand, im sold!

Sadly it is Desani - it is our least favorite brand but we didn’t want to deal with an amazon order this trip so we went with it.

Amazon prime now is expensive its 5 something for a gallon of milk. We live in the midwest milk is cheap here. I noticed in Florida milk was expensive everywhere... i guess the dairy farms are further away. So if you are only buying a few things its not to bad. We buy dinners and snacks so we get it from walmart delivery. Use the code FASTCR for one free delivery normally 9.99 then just tip them a few bucks.

OP here, I'm at Sports now and wanted to report that I could not buy a loaf of bread here, but thanks to my Did friends I did indeed take a bus over to Music where I bought a loaf for $4.29 (whole wheat Arnold's brand, large size slices) and I walked back to Sports.

For other ?'s on the thread, I do not see gallon water, the largest is 1.5 Liter at $5.75 and there is an 8 pack of 12 iz bottles for $4.49 a

I bought a half gallon of milk for $3.69 & a hummus/pretzel snack pack for $3.99.

Music did have slightly more offerings such as half bottles of peanut butter & jelly & the bagels that are mentioned above but are plain.

I was able to use AP discount in the gift shop to purchase food items & I used TiW discount to purchase food in food court.

This is kind of how I stumbled upon it too, trying to buy several little milks in the food court for cereal, half gallon in gift shop = much cheaper.

Another potential option is to bring bread, water, and even milk in your luggage. for the liquids, you just have to check the bag. Liquids get heavy, so you can't pack too much, but I've easily put a dozen waters in gallon or gallon+ size zip bags, to be safe.

You can even bring milk, you just need to get Parmalat or shelf-stable milk boxes. (Horizon is one common brand, but there are others, and non-organic milk usually costs less.)

Still one more option is to freeze the bread before travel. Help keep it from getting squished, plus helps to keep nearby items cool, tastes about the same.

Stupid question, but what is the actual cost of a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk in Florida, outside of Disney? Here in Buffalo, those are $0.79-.99 and $1.59-$2.09. I've been sticker shocked traveling, besides Disney. (We pay more for gas. A lot more in NY).
Probably not nearly enough to make shopping offsite worthwhile. A half gallon of milk outside Boston is as low as $1.79 (local, not national, brand). Arnold bread runs $2-$3 not on sale. Even at twice the cost, gift shop prices are still a value.

I can't give exact quotes at Publix, but I usually expect bread to be $2-2.50 loaf, but I tend to look for preservative-free bread. The least expensive store-brand white bread is $1-1.50.

I usually expect milk to be $3-3.50/gal ($2 for a half gal) for regular (non-organic) milk.

Publix prices run about my expectations, or slightly lower, with good quality fruit, and a wide selection.

I've also shopped at Whole Foods just beside Universal. They have an awesome hot foods/cold food buffet, and many prepared foods. (sushi!) It isn't cheap, but wide choices for an arrival day lunch. Everything from seafood to pizza, to a dozen soups, to all kinds of bakery quality desserts.

At WF, bread tends to be about $3-4 loaf for bakery bread. Milk is about $3.50/gal, probably $2.50/half gal. A twelve pack of single-serve milk boxes is about $10-12, and organic at WF.

I usually expect to pay about $5 for 24bottle case of basic water at either store. Publix often has a sale of $5 for 36 bottles store-brand water, or a 12pack for about $3-5, depending on the brand. W Foods high end bottled water gets crazy, but store brand is about on par with Publix. W Foods has a wide selection of healthy snack foods, and is also great if anyone has special allergy needs or is vegetarian.

Publix is also a reasonably decent place to get other items too, like sunscreen and toiletries. They tend to have a great selection. W Foods is not a good place to get sunscreen.

Other trips, we have shopped at the drug stores, like Walgreen's. if you just want water, and arrive late, they usually have a good sale on bottled water. Bread is often priced a little high, but milk is about the same as Publix. They usually have reasonably priced bananas, too.

Slightly OT, but I recently was asked to donate water for a local event/fundraiser. I found 24 bottle cases of water for $2.50!

The event sold them for $1 each, which is STILL a good deal compared to WDW, but I kind of laughed a little at the thought of buying back my donation. (Works great as a way to raise a few $ at events though! esp w/snacks.)

Sometimes at the end of a our vacation we give away extra bottled waters and sunscreen (if flying), and most folks are happy to accept! It is actually pretty fun.

Sports does not have any in End Zone or Sport Goofy.

POP at one time had them in the Merch Shop, but don't "think" they still do.
I just got back from Pop a little over a week ago and they did not sell loaves of bread. They did have them at AoA though, probably due to the kitchenettes there.

Can anyone confirm if a loaf of bread can be purchased in the gift shop?

I remember loaf bread at the Deluxe/DVC properties. I also remember half gallon milk & family size bags of chips from my Jan 2019 Value stay. But, I can't remember bread. Do you know?

Yes. I almost always buy a loaf of bread, a jar of jelly and a jar or Peanut butter in the gift shop. My guys like to eat PB&J for breakfast most mornings.

We live 2 hours from Disney. At Walmart milk is $3.69 gallon and store brand bread $.1.39, Wonder bread or other brands $3- $4 loaf.
