Buying a Kids Swimsuit at Disney

We'll be making our first trip to WDW in 12 days and of course, I realized this weekend that DD2 just outgrew her swimsuit. I can't find any more in the stores around here....Who would think someone would need to buy a swimsuit in summer?! Is it possible to find kids swimsuits this time of year at Disney and are they outrageously priced? Or would I be better off just ordering one from the Disney website. I still have time to get it shipped if I do it soon though getting one at WDW would be a lot more convenient.

Order one from a website you still have time and it will be SOOOO much cheaper, there is one store in DTD that MIGHT have them but your not a sured that they will or of the selection or sizes.

I've seen them at all the Targets and Walmarts around here. I bought several for the kids for next year at $4!

I looked at Target yesterday and didn't find any at all. At least not in the toddler sizes. I don't shop at Walmart. I'm in Michigan. Maybe that's why we don't have any around here? Winter comes early. Still, it's crazy that it's August and they're gone from stores. Wish I'd known her suit was too small a lot earlier!

Do you have Costco around you? The Costco here has a LOT of Disney toddler swimsuits. They are super cute and about $7 each. Of course, this is Southern California, so swimsuit season lasts a bit longer.

You can find the swimsuits at Disney for sure. The prices are not outrageous. They will have the best selection at the Polynesian, Beach Club, Contemporary, and Grand Floridian resort gift shops, I have noticed. Also, at the water parks, LOTS of swimsuits for sale, although they tend to have more of the "name brand" stuff and not so much Disney brand merch. for the kids...

I would recommend online shopping. Not necessarily Disneyshopping.com, though. They charge a lot for expedited shipping, which is what you'd need to assure delivery in time for your trip. Try Old Navy, Gap, or Amazon.com. Or, even onestepahead.com. They have some swim stuff on sale at all of those.

Try Miejer's than we found a decent toddler selection. Where is MI do you live? they als had swimsuits in St. Joe and Newbuffalo at the little stores down town on sale and Sweetwater in New Buffalo had a hugh rack of them not sure of the sizes.

We got stuck at Disney in February 08 without our luggage and I needed to buy shorts and/or swim trunks for my son (size 4 at the time). We went to the All Star Sports gift shop and all over downtown Disney and couldn't find anything small enough. No little boy shorts at all and the smallest boy swim trunks I could find were size 8 (which I ended up buying and safety-pinning in desperation, LOL). Of course, girl stuff was much more plentiful. But I wouldn't go down there counting on being able to find a small swimsuit. I'd bet that they do have them at the water park gift shops though - they had a lot of suits there.

I'm in Florida; and trust me, you won't have a problem getting a swim suit down here. Actually right now, they are on sale practically at all departements stores here...would probably still be cheaper than inside the resort.

I'm in Kalamazoo. The Meijer nearest me HAD a lot of swimsuits on clearance before I realized I needed one. I'll try to drive across town to another one tomorrow.

When we're at WDW, we'll be staying at OKW and we'll be without a car so getting to the other resorts or a department store isn't going to be easy. Sounds like my best bet is to just order one online. Disney ships pretty fast and they still have some cute suits in her size.

You may want to check Kohls if you have one close by. Ours still has them but they are clearanced out.

If you're staying at a WDW resort, they have swimsuits stocked year-round in the gift shops. We had to buy DD a suit this past January when we arrived at CBR. No problem!

How about disney shopping on line, you might get a clearance price at this point and have it shipped to your resort.

We got one for DD from a shop at DTD. She didn't really need it, but it was a Tink suit with a little fairy-style skirt and I couldn't resist.

I hate that all the summer stuff is gone from the stores by August! It is like all the stores run on a southern schedule - bathing suits in March & April, back to school merchandise and sales starting in July. And by the time we actually need a bathing suit in July/August or school supplies in Sept, they've cleared it all out to make room for the next season.

Check Kohls they still have all their clearanced items from summer out....we were at disney last week and bathing suits were a little over $30 for tots

I just did this actually! I had the same problem as OP, we couldn't find a suit locally in DD's size. Disneystore.com had them on sale so I ordered one and it just arrived yesterday.

You should choose from swimsuits sale. There you can get a number of varity for swim suits at affordable price.
