If I buy a Exoress Pass online, it is my understanding that I would then print out a paper with a bar code on it that will allow me to Fast Pass each ride once. Is that correct?

Has anyone purchased a Express Pass online and printed it out?
popcorn::

the fast pass is at disney.

universal has the express pass plus.
is that what you are referring to?

That's correct but I would wait until you arrive at the park to purchase an Express Plus pass as you may not need it.

WHat I am asking is, I guess if you buy the Express Pass online, you print out the paper and show it at each ride, I just worry that it could get wet, lost or destroyed easier then say a card, but who wnats to waste a half hour online buying the Express Pass in card form?

What I was telling you is yes...you will get a paper if you do "print at home"...you can exchange it at Guest Services if you want the regular ticket sized pass. Does that answer your question?

metro is correct.

you exchange the voucher for the express pass plus.
like you asked, it is valid for rides and attractions/shows only once.

there are some days you do not need the express pass plus.

go to the website.
if the cost of the ep pass is $19 or under, that would indicate a slow day at the parks.
when the cost increases and is high, the epp would be a necessity.

once you buy the epp, it is yours.
no exchanges or refunds.

metrowest was suggesting that you wait until you get to the park to see if you even need the epp.

you can buy them at guest services at anytime.

crowds would start beginning in the parks around 11ish on a normal day.
if you go early, and it starts to get crowded, buy the pass then.

i think the epp can also be purchased at one of the stores.
don't quote me on that, but someone posted last year they could do it that way.

guest services could let you know where you can buy the epp once you are inside the park. it would only take one phone call to find out.

hth

I also recommend waiting. The express is non-refundable and so if you buy it and don't need it, you will have wasted your money. You can buy it at many stores all over both parks.

If the express gets wet, they can reprint it for you at Guest services. When are you going and we can gauge whether you will need it or not.

I am also considering buying express passes...we will be there 7-23-08...wonder if we would need them then?

I think you will need express on that day. That day will probably be very busy. The end of July is one of the busiest times for the Orlando theme parks.

Thanks...I may just book a night at one of their hotels. The express passes for that day are $50.99 each! (we would need 4) :scared1:

I think you will come out ahead staying onsite. You'll have unlimited express for two days if you only stay one night.

like phamton posted, you will come out ahead if you stay on site.
come on, you know you want to....

you are talking about paying over $200 for your family for the express pass plus that only allows you to go on each ride/attraction once in the ex lane.

if you applied that $200 plus to a room, you would be way ahead.

you also get the fotl perks on the day you check out of the hotel.

you can check out on the next day, store your luggage at the hotel free and do that day with the fotl again.

just think, that would be over $400 if you did 2 days of fotl.
can't beat that with a stick.......

We are going on Friday June 20th, so it will be a MUST as most schools are out by then. Just didn't want to waste any time waiting online at the park to get them. We plan on being there a half hour before the park opens........

There's not much wait in line to get the passes - and you can buy them in lots of the shops. We bought in advance for US and bought when there for IOA this april.

It was lowest price band and the parks were quiet, but it was still worth it to us to just walk on rides - even if it was only the once each ride - especially with the kids at Dr Seuss area. Then for all of us at Spiderman, Men in Black and a couple of others. Unlike Fastpass at Disney, ExpressPlus applies to nearly every ride in the whole park. Some rides are busy no matter if the park is quiet... just my view....

Not the OP, just wondering if you think it'd be necessary for any days (plans still up in air)

Sunday, Oct 19 thru Wednesday, Oct 22nd?

specifically, wondering if the parks get extra busy during the day due to HHN on Sunday & Wednesday that week, especially.

speaking from experience, the parks do tend to get the crowds coming in around 2ish on the nights hhn will happen.

go early. since you will be a DAY visitor, get to the parking garage by 7:45.
you will wait in line but it is worth it.
they open the garage at 8.
it will only take you less than 5 minutes to go in and park then.
show your HC for better parking near the elevator.

get to the park entrance line around 8:15-20.
more than likely you will be let in sooner than 9 the official opening time.

do the major rides first.
the day crowd will start coming in around 10:30 but still not too crowded then.
the guests at the onsite hotels can sleep in and get to the park around 10ish as they have fotl and no need to be at the park earlier. except for me. i stay onsite and still get to the line by 8:10 each morning.

at IOA, the hulk will be open at 8:30
other rides also will be open.
there will be some that will not open until 9 though

at the studios side, you will have rides open before 9.
some attractions at that side do not open until 10 though.
terminator, jaws, a few more.

people that are going to attend HHN, usually come in the afternoon in order to catch rides, grab a bite to eat or just walk around the studios side to get an idea where everything is located.

buy the epp once you get to the park.
make the decision then.
you'll know by 10:30 if you have covered many of the rides if you will need it for the rest of the day.
ioa will close at 6 and the studios will close at 5 to the general public on those dates.

when i say dates, i am talking about the sunday, wednesday dates.
no hhn on monday and tuesday of the time period you will be there.
