Hi
We are flying to WDW from the UK with our little baby daughter who will be 18 months at the time of travel.

We are trying to cut down on the amount of luggage that we have to take with us and are thinking of buying a car seat when we get there as we've heard that it is often cheaper to buy a seat rather than rent one from the car rental companies and we've also seen some of the seats used by rental companies are in a pretty bad state. Can anyone recommend a seat to buy and suggest a good place to buy from.

I know plenty of people suggest the scenera (sp) from costco as a good lightweight cheap alternative. The only problem is you will have to leave the airport without a carseat to get somewhere to buy one (unless someone rns out first).

We are getting the Magical Express to our hotel as we don't fancy driving after the long flight and jet lag. I'm then going to pick up the car the following morning, whilst my wife looks after our daughter and will then pick up the seat.

I would go with a Scenera. They are only about $40 bucks at walmart, and are suppose to be a real good seat. They are what we used before we bought Britax...

I would also suggest a Scenera w/5pt harness (NOT the overhead shield version). This is a basic seat but that is also why it's inexpensive. :) It does have a 34" minimum for fwd facing as do all the Cosco/Safety 1st/Eddie Bauer brand seats. So if your dd is under that then you'll have to use it rear facing. It has a 35lb max weight for r/fing which is on the higher side for US car seats. One tip if you do need to rear face her (which is safest anyway!) I recommend bringing along a towel to roll up and put in the bight of the vehicle seat (where the back cushion meets the bottom cushion) to help get the correct angle. This seat is one that can be a tiny bit tricky to install rear facing but if you know the tricks it shouldn't be a problem for you. Also here's a site that has installation videos that you might also find helpful since installing a US seat might be a bit different than what you're used to at home.

hth!
