buying 2 - one at HH and one at SSR?

Hi everyone,

My DH and I have been hashing out the whole DVC concept for a while now. I had this thought the other day and would like your opinions:

We could buy one DVC in HH (so that we could stay there 2 days on the way down to WDW and Two days on the way back) and then buy at SSR for the stay in WDW.

I am totally out of my mind? My DH says I am becoming obsessed about the whole thing. Please give an honest opinion so that I can show my DH.

Unless you want to go regularly during the summer, then Im not sure you would "need" to buy at HH. You can own all your points at SSR and stay at HH. Just buy enough points for all the nights at both places that youre thinking of.

If you really want to own both, I'd probably buy all my points at SSR first, but split the point amoung 2 contracts. One in each amount that you want to own at either resort. Buying at HH by resale can be challenging because the points can be low enough that Disney buys them back alot (at least they took our contract). But you can try and you can also try to buy them from Disney once your a member. So if you get your hands on a HH contract, you can then sell one of your SSR contracts.

Have to disagree. We went the HH route exclusively. That way, we could get more points for the same $, 3rd lowest fees, behind SSR and OKW and the 11 month booking advantage at HH during the summer. (At the 7 month window, you should always be able to find a room at SSR, but the same may not be true for summers at HH.)

You should also be able to buy HH at $70 per point and safely pass ROFR.

Have you stayed at HH yet? If you have and are already a HH fan, and you plan to make it a part of your travel plans on a regular basis as I do, then this is a pretty good idea. The more I go to HH, the more I wish I owned the majority of my points there, so much so that I think I'll have to buy another contract there.

We don't own anywhere yet. I am hoping by the end of the year we will, all of the options are out there for us to look at, it's just a matter of getting the money together.

We own both HH & SSR.

We spend a week at HH every July. We need the 11 month window in order to book our room.

Our trips to WDW are sporatic. We do not have a dedicated timeframe that we go. Knowing that we have the 11 month window at SSR allows us to pre-plan our trips 11 months out and book our accommodations. If we decide later we want to stay someplace other than SSR, at the 7 month window we'll try to make that change.

As someone else posted, once you try HH, you will be hooked!!
