Buy plane tickets now, or wait?

I can't find a fare lower than $232 round trip from Austin to Orlando. We're traveling Nov. 11 - 19. I could go ahead and buy the tickets now, or try to get a lower price through Priceline, but the ticket would probably be nonrefundable if the prices drop (or Priceline can later on do better for the discount).

So what do you think--buy now or wait a few more weeks and watch the fares? :-)

I got mine from Houston to MCO for 212. for Oct 3rd. I was looking before Ivan and they were low but then decided to wait to see what the hurricane was going to do. During that weekend they went up to 250.s I was like what to do. I just kept checking every day. Someone told me to check on Monday's because it ususally goes lower but it went higher. Tuesday am it was high but Tuesday afternoon it had went back down to 212....I went ahead and booked. I was afraid that with the hurricanes, people that had cancelled would be booking these days and I wanted certain times.
Just thought I would share my experience of prices. Hope it helps in some way.

There's the $258 r-t non-stop on SouthWest, the only non-stop flight from Austin to Orlando to my knowledge. Yeah, it's fairly pricy (but you did just miss the sale) but for the amount of time you save in transit, I have always thought non-stop was worth it. Especially if you're going to WDW!

Then again, Continental is about $230 out of San Antonio, with a connection in Houston (of course).

Not sure if there we be much more downward pressure on fares, but there might be. Good luck!

This is just a thought, but with the oil prices on the rise, and cost of gas these days I can't see the prices going down much. If anything I think they will only go up because the ailines will pass on the price of fuel to the customer. I'd say find your best deal and book now. Just my opinion, of course.

I think I'm becoming resigned to the prices. Maybe I'll look at Priceline and if I can't get a great price, I'll just book the non-stop Southwest. So now I'm debating saving $200 from Priceline versus probably awful flight times (like 7AM) and long layovers.

Maybe it's worth it to just eat the cost and fly non-stop?

Geez. Planning for a Disney trip is a full time job!
