Buy park ticket online and get a room discount?

I noticed that you can purchase your unlimited pass to Universal for $85 online. It also said something about discounts on rooms, meals, etc. Has anyone done this? If you have, did you get any room discounts included with the ticket?

You can use your AAA/AP rate to get a room discount, or purchase a package on the UO website.

There are no discounts available with the ticket. The same discounts are available to everyone (unless of course it is the Florida residents' discount).

There are AAA discounts, annual pass discounts, discounts for staying more than three nights, stay and play discounts.

usually 30% discount, but i haven't stayed at PBH....call and ask them what is the rate for AP for you date

As long as it isn't activated, you can use it any time.

I am considering making my ressie for December now. I put in aph because I plan on getting one. Right now the rate is $334 for a king club. If a better aph rate (fingers crossed) comes out, will they just adjust my rate at check in? Can I pretty much count on 30% ish for early December? (14th-17th)

Also, I can't remember... do you pay the balance at check in or check out? I seem to remember it being check out...

You can call as soon as it becomes available and have them change it then.

yes, and i don't know because I have always booked online and was charged at check-out.

I've always paid the balance on check-out.

You rate will not automatically be changed, you have to watch for it and call if you see a lower rate.

Thank you for the responses. It is weird. At first I looked up the rate through the old site (http://www.netbooker.com/booker/AppLogic+booker.hotel.book.AvailReq?brand=UE&pid=UEHRH&iid=UE) & got the APH rate of $337/night. Then I looked it up through the new site (https://universalhotels.ibe.netbooker.com/web/FrontController.nb4) & got $314--which is about 16% off rack rate ($374).

Either way, I made the ressie & paid one night's deposit. Now I will just sit back & hope for more savings!

Does anyone know what the typical savings for AAA is? Like with Disney you know it is typically 20% off during value season...

ETA, the difference from one website to the other, I was putting in 3 adults on the old site (counting our son) & it was adding the extra charge. If I take him off, it is the same price as the new site.

AAA is usually less than APH (20%)

If you want to pay in full before you arrive, I believe you need to call them and they can set it up.
