Buy Gift Card with the Chase Rewards Card?

Hi,
I have $10 left on an old Chase Rewards Redemption Card that are going to expire at the end of this month. Can I go to a mall Disney store and use it to buy a $10 Disney gift card?

Our trip is in early January. I wanted to redeem some more points and put it on the same card but since it is expiring, I'll need to order a new redemption card. I'm worried it won't arrive before we leave. Can I have the new points loaded onto the old card then go buy a normal Disney card at the Disney store?

Sometimes they will let you buy Disney GCs with a Rewards Card. Sometimes not. It really depends on the individual store.

I've had 100% success with ordering Disney GCs online at disneystore.com and using a Rewards Card for payment. However, they are slow to ship and they do not charge your card until the item ships. So, it's possible that your rewards will expire before they fulfill the order. And it's also possible that you may not receive the GC until you have left for your trip.

Thanks for your reply. I think I'll go to the Disney store tonight and see if I have good luck. If not, I read that you can get a redemption card with your points loaded (it might take 24 for the points to load) at GS in Downtown Disney. Has anyone had any recent success with this? The DIS post I read this on was from 2010.

Yes you can get a redemption card while at WDW. From Chase's website:

I have used reward dollars to buy gift cards at The Disney Store without a problem.

I've gotten a rewards card at guest services at a park and called immediately to load my points. Not a problem. I've also had my card and loaded my points as I waited next in line to be assisted at check-in. It's immediate.
