We are thinking to buy a small contract either BCV or BWV just want to close to EPCOT. We have never stay in any DVC before. Just thought the MF higher at BWV but the points seems cost more at BCV. And the room is smaller at BCV? Price cost higher for BCV at resale as sell….it is hard to decide and anyone can give some suggestion? I wish there is one more resort can closet to EPCOT with longer expiration year...Thanks!:)

IMO you need to stay at both resorts to decide.

We own both resorts, they both have their pluses and minuses and what we care about, you may not.

:earsboy: Bill

The rooms are pretty much the same size - check out the info in our DVC Resource Center, post #4 to see specifics.

BCV has the pool loved my many - Storm-Along-Bay.

It has dedicated two bedroom villas (all of BWV 2 bedrooms are lock-offs).

It is the closest DVC resort to EPCOT. It has boat service to DHS, (you can also walk there , but it is a long walk)

It has parking fairly close to the villas.

BWV is larger and has the less expensive standard view villas, as well as the highly coveted Boardwalk view rooms. (Both categories are usually gone by the time the 7 month window rolls around).

BWV has Grand Villas. (None at BCV).

BWV is a 10 minute walk to EPCOT and a 15 minute walk to DHS.

BWV has very convenient access to the Boardwalk entertainment area.

BWV has a Community Hall Building - which has crafts, activities bicycles for rent, etc.

Bill gave you good advice. Try a stay at each before you decide. Good luck!

BCV has always had more demand as the resort is much smaller than BWV. I would definitely visit both before buying.

Our preference is BC:
  • Walkway to Epcot - our preferred park
  • QS in the BC store is more convenient then trucking out to the boards
  • Rooms we've had in BC have been more updated/less beat - which is just luck of the draw but that last BW room had plumbing that was really irritating me
  • Hurricane Hanna's
  • Crew Cup

And we prefer BWV. We much prefer the integrated nature of BWV into the BWI - BCV feels like an add on. I really disliked walking through the lobby in my swimsuit to get to SAB - and my kids weren't that fond of SAB.

To me BWV because of the standard room option. Also I like the quiet pool better at BWV.

We prefer BCV as it's more quiet and quaint and smaller...no long endless hallways. It's also a bit closer to Epcot. But we recently added on at BWV because of the lower point standard view rooms...best deal going along with OKW and AKV value rooms (and we own at all 3 resorts ;-) ).

Those are our two favorite resorts. Here is why:
- you can walk to two parks (I hate the buses)
- wonderful place to hang out with the pool, boardwalk, places to eat (including a short walk to Epcot World showcase for a meal). I have made the dash into Epcot to pick up fish and chips at England just to bring them back to the Beach Club many times.
- I like to run every day and running around the boardwalk and to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios each morning is really pretty cool (about 3 miles is all).

We prefer Beach Club slightly because:
- best pool at Disney
- we like Epcot a lot more than Hollywood Studios and it is almost right at the entrance to World Showcase
- beaches and cream
- smaller and just handier than the Boardwalk

We bought DVC at Boardwalk because:
- points are way cheaper
- most of our vacations will be in Jan which is a poor pool month
- the standard view is only 10 points in Jan...can really stretch your points
- we like it almost as much as the Beach Club

DVC members get a good discount on season tickets too.

I would recommend staying at both as well but to me these are the two best places overall.

We kind of hated BWV. Shocking I know! But here's why:

1. The scary clown pool. Two grown adults totally freaked out by that thing! We even specifically requested to not be near it, and wound up in a room whose balcony was staring straight at it.

2. It was worn to heck! And we hated the room decor. It looked like they were furnished by broke college kids ransacking yard sales.

3. Toilet ran all night long.

4. The QS options require the long death March outside to the boardwalk. In cold cold February, this sucked.

That said, the walk to Epcot was great! But you can get that at BCV.

We own at both, but bought BWV first because the low point standard rooms were such a bargain. We have added on at BCV because of SAB.

I think BWV is always more beautifully decorated at Christmastime!

Hard call. They are very close in many aspects. e.g. room condition (both got many complaints), proximity to parks (BCV is closer to Epcot, but BWV is in walk distance to both Epcot and HS)... If you prefer a better pool, BCV is no doublt the winner. If you you like to have a good view, BWV is your choice.

ITA. If you really like SAB pool, go with BCV. If view is important (BW view) or low point rooms are important (BWV standard view), then buy BWV.

Yes it is best not to look at that clown too much - it is a bit odd.

I have to agree both resorts have great pros.:goodvibes

Stayed at BWV first. I loved walking to both EPCOT & Boardwalk. Unfortunately, we witnessed some very rude guests and this ruined the overall feeling of that stay. Not at all fault of the resort. If we did not own at BCV, I would stay there again. I always make time to visit and walk the Boardwalk on each stay. I love Wylands Gallery

Later stayed at BCV. We have added on points for BCV twice since that stay. My family loves: SAB - only pool at disney that my family makes us schedule time to use, I have used the Ship Shape Health Club/Spa while the rest of the family swims and I love the location right there by the pool. I also enjoy the convenience of BC market place for QS.

Cons:
BWV - my family does not like the pool and has never used it. No QS within the resort.

BC - rooms do show their wear.

I love both!

BW

The low point value of std view rooms & great view from BW view rooms are awesome. For many times of year, you have to be an owner to book either. The community hall, dining options, and nightly entertainment are also cool. Just being on the BW is very relaxing.

BC

The pool is awesome! You could literally spend the whole day there. Beaches n cream is fun. Close parking to villas. (Some people say parking at BW is far but I don't think it is bad) I own a small contract at bc for summer stays when we plan to spend most of our days at the pool.

If the pool is not a factor or not a big factor, then I would go with BW. Look at the point charts and times of year for travel. Ie studio at bc 15 points vs. 10 points standard at BW for the low season. I chose to do 100 points at BW & 50 points at BC. Bc for summer & BW for all other times.

Good luck !

This community is awesome! Thanks for everyone who provide the great input! Just by reading all the discussion and I just can't wait to stay in both then decide. I feel that I need jump in and buy now…impassive, I know. Will let you all know when and where we will getting!:yay:

We love them both. You will not be disappointed at all. Both are great !! Enjoy and welcome aboard

We bought BWV without staying there. I love it. The location is amazing. Walk to Epcot and HS. Love having the boardwalk right there for restaurants, entertainment, shops. It's so lively yet peaceful at the same time. I like that when we check n we are in the main lobby and not a Dvc added lobby. Umm I don't think the hallways are that long? And last time I stayed I was pretty far down passed the main pool. The boardwalk view is amazing and standard view saves a ton of points. It's a great value. Same point cost as okw with better location and amenities. You probably can't book either unless you own there. Plus christmas decor is beautiful. I really have to try other resorts but I fear I would miss my BWV. Good luck!
