Buy a Guest of Honor pin for your child

Yes it was a bit odd...I do believe I said "Guest of Honor Name Badges"...I know at the 2nd store, the person did hesitate and then went "Name tags, yes we have those but not all names, what name are you interested in?" but I know she was having a hard time hearing me - I think my cell phone was giving an echo or something (It's my DH's and I *rarely* use the thing!).

But the Guest of Honor didn't seem to register with her for a second.

I just called that Disney Outlet Store, I got lost in the automated phone maze, and got the direct number from the operater...

First, girl says, we don't have those...
I insisted that she double check, so she got someone else on the phone, who did double check, (after being very clear that they called these the 'Red Name Badges' LOL!!!! ) and she told me that they had VERY few. None with DS name...

She mentioned that she had like three calls already!!! Hahahah!!!

I haven't gotten a response from the mainstreet megastore. If I don't hear back from them this morning, I may just go ahead and go online and order one, and cross my fingers that they can send it!

Disney should REALLY bring these back!!!! It would be so cool to have these for a kids Disney themed birthday party, etc...

I wanted to share our story about the GOH badges. I purchased the princess ones online for our 12/04 trip. My oldest DD was celebrating her birthday, and due to the GOH badge we had a very magical experience. We were sitting front row for the Share a Dream Come True parade 12/7, DD's birthday, she was wearing a Today is my Birthday button and her GOH. All of the characters and CM in the parade told her Happy Birthday and called her by name. I had tears in my eyes and she felt so special. The people around us told her it was the most magical thing they had experinced themselves and how glad they were to be sitting next to her. A British couple told my parents it made their day to see my DD's reactions to the attention. You should see the video! I certainly recommend GOH badges!

I had to laugh at this because after I got the "we have never carried those", my thought was "Hmm...that's interesting." Because I would imagine they would have had several of us who are on the hunt for these things! LOL!!!!!!! Just thought, oh well, she thinks I'm some looney lady now (probably thought she was having a weird day now that several had called looking for the same thing! )

I never thought about the idea for using them for a Disney party - that would have been a neat idea.

You would think with as many people calling WDW Merchandising, the Christmas store, etc... looking for these, they would have to know they are a hot seller.

Great story! That's EXACTLY why I wanna purchase one for my 10-y-o DS! He is really looking forward to our upcoming trip and I just want to make it more special for him....I don't know when we will be going to WDW again, especially with him at a perfect age that he can still really be a 'kid'!

We also were so happy we purchased these for our little ones before our trip last year. So many CMs and all the Princesses (at the character breakfasts and dinners) called them by name. My dd was sooooo excited. She kept saying, "Mommy, she remembers me - she knows my name". My littles are still small enough not to put two and two together that they are reading their names.

On our recent trip in December, we experienced the same thing. (I took their badges back with us). At the Share A Dream Come True parade, one of the young men in the parade was walking past dd and said, "Hi Taylor" - just as if he had always known her. Very sweet & quick on his part.

I was a little worried about having their names on them, but we had a LOT of discussions about safety and not going with anyone, etc. All in all, I was glad we did it. It made the trip really magical.

I hope they bring them back so more of you can get them.

We went through a period in 2002 when the GOH badges were not in stock anywhere. I think it took them a few months and they only offered the red Mickey ones when they did start them back up again.

Just be very careful with Mainstreet Megastore. Unless the item specifically stated that it was "in stock", then they won't have it. There have been numerous complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau and they have an unsatisfactory rating. They offer a park shopping service, but they are located a few towns over from me in Massachusetts.

I cant find these anywhere for less than 22.00 a piece. I am hoping to get them for my 3kids but $60 for name tags plus shipping? Has anyone found anywhere where you can buy them. My kids have unusual names (unless you are in Italy ) so I have to get them personalized!

I know the Mainstreetmegastore shows them for $22.00. But, as other posters have mentioned. They will probably NOT have these pins!!!! I have read in other places where people have ordered from them. NEVER got the merchandise. Not an email... nothing....

I emailed them twice now, asking about these pins. No response.

The latest on this: Last time I visited their site, they had a little button that lead to an "apology" to all of their customers who had ordered for the Holidays and had not yet recieved their items. They openly admit that there are problems and that they just cannot fill the orders.

So, does anyone know of any OTHER place to try???? Sure would be nice to have one of these for my DS.

I would be shocked if there was any other place than those mentioned in this thread...I spent quite a bit of time searching the internet, making phone calls, and reading through old threads. If your child has an uncommon name, write an email to Jane at giftsofalifetime and inquire - when I corresponded with her, she had a few left. Also try and call the numbers mentioned in posts above - again, you might get lucky depending on your kid's name.

I ordered a GOH badge from mainstreetmegastore about a week and a half ago and haven't heard anything, so my experience is consistent with what you're saying. I read the apology and it sounds genuine. Maybe they have them and maybe they don't - it looks like I'll find out in the next week or two, so I'm going to hold out hope that I'll get the badge.

The Premier outlet had some of the red plastic badges last night -- 99 cents each! The name choice was not that large. But anyione in the area who wants any may want to check them out.

Is everyone here wanting a name-badge from the Magic Kingdom?

Would one from Disneyland be acceptable?

I just ordered one from Disneyland from earstothemouse.com .... I emailed them, and the lady says that she will be able to get me one (but, no Magic Kingdom, of course.) I payed by Paypal, and it was cheap!

Now I am thinking about ordering a 'My First Visit' pin for my DS!!!

I gave up and went to speedysigns.com and had ones made up that said "Prince In Training" for my 1 year old and "Everyday Prince" for my older 2 boys. One of the stock photos they had was this kid drawn look boy with a cape, sword, riding a stick pony - it was cute, so I used that.

I did it in a red oval, so it was similar to the Disney World ones.

I believe they did have "Cinderella" (but obviously not the real one, the prince was putting the slipper on the soon to be princess! ) and some others but I liked this one.

They came in the mail today and they are so cute!!!
