I was wondering if anyone checked on splitting the 7 days between 2 resorts of the same category - like 2 deluxes?

My sister and hubby want to stay on the monorail but only will stay 3 or 4 days. My DS and I prefer the Epcot area resorts so for the days that we will be there without sis, we would like to transfer to BWI or BC.

Is it worth the try or should I forget it?

It's been a little over a year since our last trip and DS and I are having Mickey withdrawal......must...book....another.....trip.....

A split stay always requires 2 separate ressies. So the answer would be no you can't transfer resorts.

But hey, you can always call and ask.

I know that you can't do this ahead of time but I have done it once I got there. Last year, I moved from the Coronado to the Poly mid stream. I just told them that I wanted to switch hotels and since they had availabilty, they let me.

Since I went from a moderate to a deluxe, there was an additional charge, but it was worth it for me. Basically, they transferred over what I had already paid for the one hotel to the other and then I was charged the difference between that and the new room cost.

In your case, you would be on a 4/3 and going deluxe to deluxe so it might not be any cost difference. Of course, this strategy is only beneficial if you are willing to chance that there won't be any availability to switch once you get there.
