28 years ago, my father wanted to do something special for his family. A simple house painter wanted to take his wife and kids to Disney World. And he pulled out his credit card......
Since then, he's taken us as often as he could afford (or charge). In the last two years, he's taken it to a new level. Back to back Grand Gatherings with all his kids and grandkids. Something I think he'd like to do more often now if it wasn't for the cost. This year, he has two weddings to pay for, and a third wedding to pay for in 2008. So he told us all, "Sorry, no Disney this year".
I anticipated this, and started saving tax returns for a few years. For Christmas, we presented my parents with a card, asking them to be our guests in Disneyworld this Fall. I'll be treating them, my inlaws, and my kids with our own Grand Gathering.
And I can't even tell you how much Free Dining will help out when you multiply it by 9 people.
Looking forward to MNSSHP with the whole family.
