Day 5 Thurs 07/03 – Walmart and City Walk

Just to explain why we have discarded plan totally. Zach has quite a few problems, emotionally, behaviourally etc, so having experienced his behaviour in MK, we decided to throttle back and just hang loose for the holiday and let him decide what to do even if that meant forgoing the parks we had tickets for. Besides our hotel and TGIs were so great that we didn’t stray far and Baz was enjoying not being structured for a change. Mutual decision was to enjoy the pool and shopping and come back next year on our own to do the parks.

Woke up at7.15. Breakfast at TGIs – Didn’t actually go anywhere else so will leave it out from now on.

Baz is really relaxes and apologises for being such a misery beforehand – Didn’t want to come as thought it was a waste of money, last holiday I organised was in Majorca and was a disaster. Now admits that he is having the best time ever and thanks me for not forcing him to carry on with the ‘PLAN’

Zach wants to swim again, so he and Baz go to the pool and I head off to Walmart in a taxi with Danny. Only spent $74 but got sooo much. 500 paracetamol - $5.99!! Remembered the Melatonin as well. Got loads of munchies and lunch stuff.

Came back to find Zach hypothermic – blue lips and all. He loves the pool, but it’s not heated during the week at this time of year!!! Baz has become a lobster –
USE THE SUNCREAM!!!! Idiot!

Go back to room and nap until 4.00

Walked up to Universal – actually a lovely little stroll at this time of day and figured out how to use the crossings. Walked all around City Walk and ate at Latin Quarter.
Big Mistake!! Food was barely passable. Baz had a wafer thin steak and I had a combo starter – Beef empanadas, fried shrimp with bacon and plantain with crab – icky. Zach felt ill – so curled up in stroller and fell asleep, waking briefly to eat all the chips. Danny had fish nuggets and fries. 2 Killians and coffees. $59 . Noticed gratuity was included on bill in tiny little letters. Gave surly waiter my Universal Fan Club Card for 10% discount and he wouldn’t give it back!!
‘I need this to show for discount’
‘No, it’s my Club card and I need it for my discounts’
‘No, it’s for me to keep.’
And so on until he finally gave in and went off muttering. He was really quite nasty and we felt not a little threatened by him – Big Cuban bloke. He was the only unfriendly person we have met so far.

We walked back to the hotel – Pushing Zach in the stroller with Danny strapped to his chest with spare harness – heave ho! Both fell asleep straight away. I went down stairs to use the Internet machine and left my DIS message. Had a wonderful shower, put the dishes in the machine, wrote TR and collapsed into Bed.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Universal last year which had a TGI's attached. It was great as TGI's did room service takeaway - yum! I'm guessing that your hotel is near there as we walked over to Universal too.

Yes it do'es get a bit tiring, but with two young children you must be extra tired.
I don't think I could cope with small children again.

Gosh I do admire you Elsie, to give up the parks for the sake of family harmony is very good of you! It was nice that Baz appreciated your sacrifice too and said so!! I'm glad that the good times still roll!!

Thanks for the wonderful report - luv reading them!!!!
