Am I the only one who thought butterbeer would be warm? Like a warm cider or cocoa kind of drink. The cold will be refreshing in the heat, but I wish they would come up with a warm kind during the winter.
It was warm in the books if I recall correctly. Or at least the books talked about the drink warming the kids up after wandering around in snowy Hogsmead. Given the extremely low fictional alcohol content, I can only assume it had to have been warm in temperature to warm you up and not just warm you up the way say whiskey (even when it's on the rocks) can. I don't know that I expected WWoHP's version to be warm though. It just wouldn't be practical to make a must-have beverage warm when Florida is hot 8-10 months out of the year.
If you don't like cream soda you're highly unlikely to enjoy butterbeer. It's basically cream soda with a dose of butterscotch. Unfortunately for my waistline, I do indeed like cream soda (and therefore butterbeer). I don't think it would taste good warm but pumpkin juice probably would...kinda cidery.I think I'll try this if I make it out to Universal for the novelty factor, but I doubt I'll like it. I don't like cold beverages to be too sweet, and Root beer and Cream Soda are way to sweet for my taste. I expect this will be similar.
For those who have had it...is it carbonated...like soda?
Are the mugs plastic or glass and are they nice? Its hard to tell in the photos.
It's not carbonated
It is carbonated, but it is still quite light tasting.
I asked hubby and he pointed out we drink the frozen version...hence my non-carbonated answer. I tend to forget there's any other kind!Okay thanks you two.....SO not helpful
Do we have another opinion as to the tie-breaker?
