So it happened to me again, but I said I would never complain, and I wont. I'll just vent on the boards to my friends who understand and support me. Right huh huh Support with a capital S right.
Actually it was my fault twice, I was the one that said lets ride the monorail back to the park, when we got there the ramp was empty so Kathryn and Donna sat down on the bench. I went to see if I could talk the CM into letting me drive the thing, after all I have a set of wings, and a safety pin for good Monorail driving.
The CM collected pins and we started to chat, then when she was called away I turned around and found myself looking at over 100 people. The bench that housed the only two women I knew was gone from sight.
Then it happened a family of 4 approached, and the mother inquired about my pins and asked questions about each and every one, which is more valuable? what pin is better than what? Strange questions, but as I have been told being a local person I am an ambassador of Disney, I answered as best I could.
Then she points to my Wet Paint and says with a smile well I like Donald so I'll trade you for that one. I smile and politely say I'm sorry these are my keepers I don't trade these, but as I was reaching into my pocket to pull some these are for your kids pins, the husband stops me in mid sentence, and pulls out the handy dandy pin etiquette books and point to then shows me where it says, any cast member with a lanyard has to trade you for a pin as long as that pin is not on his or her lanyard already.
But I'm not a cast- . I'm stopped again and he continues reading in the book because by now they want my spinner as well.
I'm not a cast member I manage to blurt out in-between readings, then the mom points to my chest, and to my new Cast member dangler that does say Cast Member on the bottom as I let out a big sigh and say to myself not again. You think I would learn from the nametag incident.
Then I explained the whole thing about the pin, they bought it, but only after I managed to get the kids a ride on the front of the monorail. I love my CM friends.
So I started to think this is going to happen again and again, and I need a solution. And that's why I'm here who knows better than the pin masses.
I came up with this one I will from now on carry two lanyards, one is keepers, one is trade. That way if I'm ever mistaken for a CM, I'll explain and pull out my, but these are for trade pins, I'll keep it stocked with pretty pins that make kids go oooooooohhhhh.
If anybody has a better idea or plan share please I'm always looking for a better mousetrap.
And I never did get to drive the darn thing, and the women they didn't have a clue I just whimpered in silence.
