Thursday 7th May
I fear I may have built your hopes up and promised you a non-POFQ breakfast today?! Well I was wrong! BUT, it is our last one for a few days! So hold on, there is hope!
However on this day we did yet again stick with the food court, this time sampling Special K and sharing a blueberry muffin. I dont remember the muffin very well at all, but I have given it 9/10 and a very moist comment, and Tony gave it 8/10, so must have been OK!!
Mid-morning we were in MK, and decided to have a pretzel we have NEVER had a fresh pretzel before! Hmmmm, kind of like eating a lump of bread!

Filling and stodgy, but not exactly exciting!!!!! We both gave it 5/10.
Now we decided to spend the afternoon in the town of Celebration as we had never been there, and after reading a couple of good food comments on a UK trip report we knew we wanted lunch at Market St Café. The menu is huge and full of things we like! We had to wait about 15 mins for a table then in we went! Its pretty large inside, and the service was OK a little slow, but she was friendly enough!
Now for some reason, after months of eyeballing all the lovely sandwiches on the online menu, I decided to go for the Greek salad?! Sometime the crazy just strikes me.

This was OK huge portion (though a little bit mean on the feta cheese I thought) and the dressing was a bit on the sharp side for me. Id give it 7/10. Tony went for a chicken salad sandwich he didnt enjoy it very much, mainly because there was fruit (craisins) mashed in with the chicken!!!. He only gave it 6/10. It was a little like that scene out of Friends, when Joey asks what all that red fruit cr*p is doing on his cheesecake Tony was not happy!

Dessert was VERY good! We went for the coconut cream pie, and really regretted sharing! The pastry was lovely and crumbly, and there was absolutely loads of coconut cream which was really thick and yummy. We both give this 9/10. I would go here again, as there is so much on the menu I want to try. Maybe if we go next Christmas we could have dinner here before watching the snow fall!
Coconut cream pie
On the way back to the car Tony stopped at Kilwins Chocolate and Ice-cream shop there was loads of really good looking ice-cream which almost made me regret the dessert we had just had! Tony just got a chocolate covered twinkie, and ate it the next day well it was refrigerated so not the best, but I will give it 9/10 as it was a stunning idea! Will buy another one when we go back, and have it at room temperature!
And this is nothing to do with food, but we were having a little after-lunch nap in the big rocking chairs around the lake, and we saw a gator!!!!!! No one believes us, but we did!!!
So, on to one we had really been looking forward to this evening 50s Prime Time Café one of our absolute favourite meals last year.
We only had to wait a couple of minutes for our table (a VAST improvement on last years 30 minutes), and got taken to a room at the back of the restaurant with just 3 other tables. Our sever was already in there . . . well right away we knew we were in for a night of it as she was busy telling someone off! Once she had finished we had to introduce ourselves to the rest of the room, after we had done this she then went back to this poor man! I cant remember what he did but she made him stand against the wall for a while. Then before he was allowed to sit down again he was made to do the Im a teapot song, with actions. Honestly she terrorised this man all night! It was SO funny! She was hilarious with all of us, but this poor man got most of the flack. It was most enjoyable!!!! She really made the meal to be honest I thought last years server was good but she knocked her out of the park! Never have I been so terrified in case an elbow inadvertently touched the table though!
So onto the meal. Utter devastation ripped through my body when I discovered the fried herb cheese had been removed from the menu (why would they do that, why WHY??

), as I result I sulked and refused to have an appetiser!
Instead I ordered Mums Old Fashioned Pot Roast (slow cooked til fork tender, served with mashed potatoes, celery and onions), which Tony had last year and highly recommended to me.
Pot roast
Tony went for Aunt Lizs Golden Fried Chicken (served with mask potato, chicken gravy and southern greens).
Chicken
Mine was pretty good absolutely loads of meat, and the mash was good and creamy. What let it down was the veg - they were really over cooked and dry they were like paper. However I ate them all as I had one thing on my mind this year a clean plate sticker.
And lookey what we have here!!!! You knew I could do it!
While this wasnt quite as good as Tonys Pot Roast last year, that is only due to the wrinkled up veg, so I would still recommend it for the rest of the meal it gets 8/10. Yet again though, I ended up for the 2nd year running drooling over Tonys plate! He gave me a piece of his chicken and I LOVED it. I should say that I love friend chicken at home, but my only experience of it in the US was a vile KFC last year, so I didnt order it based on that. Well I wish I had! Really hot, fresh and crunchy! Tony gave it 8/10 and said it was good but a little greasy.
I was very excited to get to "use" the dessert menu this year, unlike last year!
On to desserts I knew what I was having the Smores. Ohh perfection on a plate. Sickly perfection, but perfection all the same. These were excellent and get 9/10 what more do you need than cracker, chocolate and marshmallow all melted together?! Why we dont make these in the UK is beyond me!
Now I had a moment of greediness here (just the one Sonya?!) I also ordered the peanut butter and jelly milkshake I had heard about . . . then I remembered Eeyores Tailfinders reviews from a couple of months ago, where she also ordered this and it sent her over the edge and she had to rush out of the restaurant or risk being unwell . . . well the smores were really sickly and I got a bit panicky about also being unwell. So I must confess I hardly drunk any of this what I tried was good, just like drinking a snickers, which can never be wrong!
PB& Jelly - very thick!
Tony went for a strawberry milkshake, which was really good and fresh. He also ordered the Dads Brownie Sundae brownie with vanilla ice-cream, hot fudge, and caramel topping he loved it and gave it 9/10. I would like to comment but he didnt let me have any of it!!!! Our server didnt charge us for the milkshakes, bless her, she was so nice (though a tad scary!). She did bring the check with the desserts which annoys me a bit (makes me feel very rushed!) but I forgive her!
Dads brownie
All in all it was a very enjoyable night, with consistently good food. I would eat here again definitely, however want to try Sci-Fi or Brown Derby next year, so will probably give it a miss for a year.
Coming up is Captain Cookes, Peco Bills, 1900 Park Faire, and Main St bakery!
