Still, having stayed in one 2 years ago, we LOVE the extra room and the complete indulgence. Point wise, the studio is the way to go. It's the most economical and logical choice. Also, a studio really does meet all of our needs and would leave us with enough points for a 2nd trip next year! Still, that one bedroom makes us feel like we're really on vacation...

We have always gotten the 2 bedroom because we had the kids or took another couple with us, but if it was just the wife & I we would opt for the 1 bedroom it's ice having the extra room.

I am a snob too. Last year me and DH tried to stay in a studio, and, well, after one night we went to see if we could get moved to a 1-bedroom. Thank goodness we were able to. It made our stay so much better. We love to have the kitchen and a washer/dryer that we have decided that we can stay in no less than a 1-bedroom for just the two of us. Cuz like you said, that really makes us feel like we are on vacation and we are so much more relaxed.

I'll put my cards on the table. If it's the four of us, I'd rather stay offsite than in a glorified hotel room---and that's all a studio is. If it is just the two of us, well, *maybe*. Even then, I'd often rather not.

But when all you have known up until DVC is Pop...the studio ROCKS!! Plus we can take a family member and have enough points for them a studio, too. I just don't know what our recourse will be if we ever stay in a one br....major, full blown ...addonitis.

We are one bedroom or larger snobs as well. We just can't imagine a week at WDW in another accommodation anymore. We cook/eat in the room, do laundry (which allows us to bring just carry on bags), and take advantage of the jacuzzi tubs.

We will do studio accommodations at the Villas at the Grand Californian, but we typically just stay one evening in those.

Our typical WDW trips are "just the two of us" for a work-related conference. We always book the 1BR unit for the stay! (Ok, I lie. We had a 2BR unit this past January and it was great!. I had my own bathroom, dressing area and coffee pot.)

I agree with an earlier post, studios are little different than normal hotel rooms. I bought timeshare for the space and the extras: jetted tub, kitchen and laundry.

I checked out the model at SSR, fully expecting just to take a bit of time, get some fastpasses etc. I told my wife about it, waiting for the eye roll when I mentioned it. But she loaded up and we headed over. Started crunching the numbers, yes, we did finance, so we wont quite have the saving as fast, but once she saw the size of the 1 bedroom, saw how much it 'cost' per year, she was sold. She actually said "what took so long?"

We just did a split stay - our first DVC stay - and it was just DH and myself. First 3 nights in a 1 bdrm at AKV, then 2 nights in a studio at BWV. I only see 1 bdrms in our future - the bathroom, the kitchen, the laundry. I guess I have become a 1 bdrm snob!

I am having the same dilema but with a 2 bedroom. I love not having to use the sleeper sofa and have an actual living area while on vacation.

My husband and I love the room in the one bedroom for just us. Having the luxury of the kitchen is great so we don't have to eat out for all our meals.
The washer and dryer in the room is also great and convenient. I would not trade for a studio.

And we were used to the GF main building Concierge level. Those rooms are hugh. But with it just being the two of us... the studio is fine.

We are excited to make our first stay in a one bedroom this spring. Since all three of us will be staying there my DH wants to cook each night to keep the cost of the trip down- he loves to cook.

When it is just us we stay in the the studio. When we go out to eat we get some extra food for the next day and keep it in the refrig.

Last time we drove to Miami to eat dinner at one of the best Cuban resturants and ordered to meals to go to eat back at WDW the next day. The food was well worth the drive and having the refrig to store it was such a nice convience.

This Dec will be our first DVC trip...doing a split stay at BCV and BLT, both in 1 Bedrooms. We both prefer to have more space and the convenience of a kitchen...not to mention the bathroom space.

Wish me luck...DH has never been to WDW and I'm hoping he'll love it! The DVC purchase was my wedding gift and I'm definitely looking forward to many years of happy family vacations.

How many in your party 2/3? How many nights do you normally go for? Do you go yearly, more or less?

I would consider every other trip - doing a split stay. Start out a few nights in a studio and ended with a few nights in a 1 BDR - treat yourself once in a while

Sometimes the problem is the same with the 1 BDR and 2 2BDR. I love having the living room area empty.

When we bought in the guide said we needed xx amount of points and could come for our usual 7 - 10 nights, once I got home and really crunched the numbers I realized he was so off and added on resale soon after that!
I told DH from the beginning 1 bedroom or larger even with the 2 of us. With that being said DD and 3 friends stayed at BWV for 7 nights in a studio for 132 points which was perfect for them since 17 and 18 yr olds are not cooking (yet they had a frig, toaster etc...) or doing laundry. Heck I used our 2009 incentive points to stay in a 2 bedroom at OKW with 2 girlfriends (only 3 of us), yes my 1st stay I was spoiled!
