"But Mommy, how do we get to Disney World?" A Nov/Dec 2011 PTR Update 8/8!

OH MY GOSH!!! I cannot believe how amazing those parties are!! I am just in awe of you!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the picture with the mary poppins outfits on, too cute :cutie:

If I ever get married or have a large birthday party I want you to plan it :goodvibes

Your parties are amazing! The Aurora party is stunning. My daughter would love to have a party like that.

I'm just blown away by your parties! How many people usually come to the birthdays? I saw a lot of tea for the grown-ups at the Mary Poppins Party!

Awesome birthday parties. I recognize several of them from other party sites I browse, too. :lovestruc

Joining in. This pre-trip report is great!

First, your children are just adorable. Love the picture of them sleeping in the stroller with Donald beside them. Too cute! :)

Wow---what amazing birthday parties! The theming and everything is just magnificent! I could only imagine what you do as a wedding planner.

We will be at Disney part of the time you are. We arrive November 20th and leave the 28th. The first part of our stay is at BWV and then the last 6 nights we are at SSR, however I am hoping my waitlist comes through and we get BWV then entire time.

Can't wait to read more!

WOW!

Based on what you've done for birthday parties for your children, you must be a very good event planner. The detailed theming for their parties is very impressive. It looks like those parties would be a lot of fun for kids and adults both! Thanks for sharing the pictures, it looks really cool. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for your kind words! :thumbsup2 They are lots of fun to plan and the adults do have fun as well. I'm currently planning my grandfather's surprise 85th birthday with a vintage baseball/yankee pinstripe theme.

Wow you put on some amazing parties!! I love it all lol

Thanks so much!!:cutie:

I'm in NJ - not far from you - count me in! :)

I enjoyed the Aurora party as well; in some ways I wish she were a bit older so there could have been more games/activities, but in her eyes, it was perfect and that's what counts. She also doesn't have a desire to do BBB since so maybe I saved myself some money in the long run too!

There are usually about 14 kids (aged 2 - 6) attending, 4 tweens/teens, and another 40 - 45 adults. I have only done family parties and children of close friends. For this year, we will have 3 new cousins to welcome into the party scene. We have yet to venture into the separate friends/classmates party and family party, although I think that will be happening this coming school year. I also invite my exDH and his immediate family (parents, siblings/families, grandparents, and a few cousins with children DD and DS's age).

There was a lot of tea - more than I needed but I offered 6 different tea blends and wanted to make sure there was variety but enough for everyone (and since I  tea, the extras were for me! - BONUS!)

Hi Erika! Welcome :wizard: I hope your waitlist comes through for you. No word so far on ours.

Weddings are lots of fun to plan but stressful for myself, and sometimes the bride, depending on how involved she wants to be. I have some who hand over the reigns to me once a general vibe/theme is decided and it is a bit like the unveiling David Tutera does on his show, others are more involved. There are pros and cons to each.

Subing, we will be there at the same time you are!

Hi! Welcome! :cheer2: Thanks for joining in. Where will you be staying?

New update coming up soon! In the meantime, anyone else going to see pirate: tomorrow/this weekend?

New update coming up soon! In the meantime, anyone else going to see pirate: tomorrow/this weekend?

My DH and his friend went and saw it this past weekend. I wasn't going to see it without some reviews out first. I was incredibly disappointed by the 2nd and 3rd movies though Johnny Depp is always good. I like to pretend that the first one doesn't have any sequels. DH and friend said that On Stranger Tides was okay. Not as good as the 1st but better than the 2nd and 3rd. I didn't realize that it was a reboot of the franchise, like this past Star Trek movie. So I might go and see it. Did you go?

I'm not a Yankees fan myself, but I love baseball and I think that would be an awesome idea for a theme. I'd love to see some pictures of that one.:thumbsup2

I haven't had a chance to see it yet - I've had an allergic reaction to something and the meds the doctor prescribed me resulted in another allergic reaction where I could barely walk. I'm hoping to see it sometime this week.

I'll have some pics of the invite up soon! I'm hoping to head out to a flea market tomorrow to find some old mitts, bats, and baseballs to use for decorations.

Since making our reservations, Pop Pop has been asking everyone to make their dining 'Wish Lists.' He printed out a list of every sit-down and counter-service restaurant in WDW (as he does every year), and we wait ... and wait... and wait.

The kids and I made our list about 2 weeks ago. Their wishes were: Akershus Royal Banquet (well, DD's pick!), Tusker House Breakfast, and Cosmic Rays. My wish list: Sanaa, Chefs de France, Ohana's, and Tusker House B'fast.

This past week Pop Pop and I called, spoke to in person, and texted for everyone's ideas and still received no responses from anyone. Nonna says she made a list but left it at work :confused3 . We never got a response from DSis and DBil. So we wait ... (see a pattern?).

I kept checking the WDW website site and they still haven't updated their park hours. It bugs me that they haven't released the hours yet, but expect us to know what we want to eat 6 months from now. I've used last year's December hours as a reference, and what DIS has posted so far. Just one of the many reasons why I preferred the 90 day ADR system.

Back to the story ... I've been dealing with a horrible allergic reaction to something which has yet to be determined and had a ridiculous reaction to the meds I was put on. I couldn't walk without pain, so now I am on nothing (against doctors orders - he wants me to take the meds again) and I look like a giant chicken pox! Needless to say, I have not been in the best of spirits so when I woke up this morning and said, "180 days- where are we eating?" only to be met with, "We're doing this now?" I was not amused.

In my disgust, I then decided to make our ressies, knowing my group, what they like and the wishes of Pop Pop, the kids and myself. Slowly but surely, Nonna and DSis (who happened to be at the house) came in to give me their suggestions and wants.

Without further adieu, we will be chowing down at these wonderful WDW restaurants. I didn't fill in all the days yet, and I am going to sleep on it to see if it needs any tweeking ...

11/25 - dinner Chef Mickey's (requested by Pop Pop, Nonna, and DSis)

11/27 - lunch Via Napoli (requested by Nonna)

11/28 - dinner Sci-Fi

11/29 - late lunch/early dinner The Plaza (probably our MVMCP night)

11/30 - b'fast for the guys at Crystal Palace
i-v9hRhQp-M.jpg

b'fast for the girls at Cinderella's Royal Table
i-JXjT4V5-M.jpg

12/1 - dinner Ohana
i-CrnCtJ4-M.jpg

12/2 - possible Candlelight Processional Pkg night
12/3 - dinner 1900 Park Fare (may be changed to GF Cafe, our means of getting to the hotel to see the giant Gingerbread House)
i-LWsdrh2-M.jpg

12/4 - TBD

I made all of our ressies online, except for Crystal Palace. I hit a snafu as I had already made our Cinderella ones and the computer system will not allow for more than one dining reservation to be made at the same time under the same hotel ressie. I'm guessing this was in response to guests in the past who would make 3 or 4 ADR's and see where they were that day. I called Disney Dining and the CM was able to make the guys' b'fast plans with no trouble.

Why the split? We first did this during DS's 1st trip. Nonna and I took DD to eat at the Castle. It was an extra special thing and Pop Pop went with DS to Crystal Palace. We did it again the following year but took a Castle break last year. With DNiece's first trip, I decided to try and get into the Castle without making promises to DD. Well, she knows now and is 'super duper' excited! She even wants to dress in the same princess costume as DNiece. At first DS was extremely upset, until he realized that he didn't have to eat with princesses and was going to visit Pooh and Tigger instead!

What do you think of our plans?

Thank you! They are fun (albeit hard work) to plan! Working on my grandfather's birthday party and a summer popsicle party for DD's classmates coming up in June!

Your ADRs look great!:)

Thanks :thumbsup2 Still not sure on 1900 Park Fare and Pop Pop wants to eat in Norway for breakfast so we will have to see if we can fit it in. I'm sure DD wouldn't mind another princess breakfast!

ADR's look great! :thumbsup2 How special that there is a girls/boys breakfast. I think that is neat and some special memories being made.
