"But Mom, I want to come back to WDW!"

Thank you Blaynexox! I noticed you posted in my DD's TR (sweet of you) - I am not sure she is going to finish it because she finds it too time consuming. She'd rather spend her free time out with friends and I can't blame her but I sure hope she continues.

Aww no problem!! I hope she does finish it, but even so it was really good of her to give it a try!! :thumbsup2 I cant wait to read the rest of your TR!!

Will you be having a partaaaay? party:

The Pooh probably has good reason to think you are nutz and I'm sure there is more to that story :teeth: and you're just not telling it all *grins*

Nothing wrong with being passionate about growing old - except 40 isn't OLD!!!

I remember when I used to think it was...but now that I'm so close myself - it isn't old at all ;)

On another note, are the kids getting excited about Santa? :santa: Have they started making lists?

Hi Blue! I haven't been on my computer for awhile-busy getting ready for Thanksgiving. I'm going to send you a PM here in a few mins.

We are having a party for MDF. His sister is planning it with me. Should be crazy. I do have more info. on why I think he's nuts!! Believe me!! There is a LOT more!!

The kids and Christmas? Oh, boy. Every time they watch tv, I want that, I want that, I want that. Hmmm, I think they're trying to bankrupt us!

I also wanted to say that doing a lot research about WDW is so smart and absolutely have no regrets about not going sooner. You're never too old or too young for Disney-it truly is for everyone. Planning a good vacation takes so much. I really do appreciate MDF's efforts. We love it so much there and have such a fun time every year. There's been quite a few people we know that do a trip there just b/c we speak so highly about it. However, they come back disappointed and described their vacations as "torture" b/c they didn't plan it. They just went to FL and showed up at the parks, not planning anything b/c they didn't know. It's disappointing for us that they didn't like it.

My mom wants to take my brother and his kids down sometime now that she is "alone." She really wants to go down there when we're there and I thought that was a good idea, but when I really thought about it, it isn't. My brother and his kids are VERY different from us, wouldn't enjoy the same things, wouldn't plan things well and probably wouldn't have a good time. Plus, they all fight all the time. Not very fun to be around. And if they went down there w/out us, it'd be a disaster for them. I'm just not bringing it up anymore to them, but if it comes up, I think I'll recommend Disneyland instead. That'd probably be best for them.

Planning is crucial for a good trip! It sounds like you did a fabulous job for your family!! :thumbsup2 Looking forward to your next installment!

I just finished reading it but I won't reply until after the holiday weekend because I'm sure you are very busy.

I'm sure I'll be asking for a few pointers from you and Buzz when I start the planning for our next trip. I've asked a few questions in a some TR's but never seem to get answers. :confused3

Day 3 – Part 1 – MGM Memories

Before I start my next chapter, I'd like to wish all my American friends a Happy Thanksgiving!

I'd also like to thank my fellow pbcer Barb for reading and wish her well :goodvibes

*********************************

What seemed to dominate my memory in the early morning hours while my daughters half slept, were the various efforts to protect their individual territory from each other. Invisible lines were drawn on the bed. I was surprised to discover how common was the method in which my girls had marked out their individual spaces. From time to time a fist crossed over the invisible line to clout any strange body part protruding over it. The matter of sleeping in a shared bed seemed to encourage sibling squabbles. :furious:

Since I had no desire to eat Mickey Bars for breakfast again, three of us enjoyed a quick brunch at the World Premiere Food Court at our resort. JoJo ordered the Mickey Waffles and hardly touched them because she said they tasted terrible. This wasn’t one of our free meals so I was a little disappointed in her; however, I tasted the waffles and understood why.

We exchanged my temporary pass for a new card and picked up our Hoop Dee Doo tickets for Wednesday’s dinner and hopped on a bus headed for MGM Studios. It was 11:00 when we arrived and the temperature was rising rapidly. I don’t mind the heat but the girls seemed to find it a little unbearable and bought themselves mist fan. They had seen many children carrying them around the day before at the MK and I believe they were more interested in spraying us than themselves.

1125323-2.jpg

We hit the shops first, like always, because it’s something we enjoyed doing. My girls are shopaholics and DH was kind enough to tag along and never complained. Sometimes he would wander away to take pictures and meet up with us later. As we passed Hollywood and Vine, I pointed out that we would be eating there in the evening as part of our Fantasmic package.

1125323-3.jpg

1125323-4.jpg

While strolling along, we saw a young boy who looked to be about 3 or 4 and appeared to be LOST. It showed in his frightened face and I could see the beginnings of tears. Then we heard hysterical screaming which was obviously coming from his mother who was frantically calling his name. I ran over to her to let her know where he was. My own heart skipped a beat and I could feel her fear. She grabbed him, hugged him and went on her way.

We lined up for Indiana Jones, only having to wait ten minutes before entering the pavilion. The walk through was refreshing with the fans and water misting our hot faces. Disney knows how to treat their guests. Once inside, however, we had to wait another 30 minutes before the show began. None of us seemed to mind, it was a time to rest and cool off and we had front row seats! :yay:

When the show began, they chose members from the audience to participate. There was absolutely no way anyone in our family would volunteer. Not even me. One of the chosen members of the audience was extremely funny and it wasn’t until the show ended that we realized he was part of the cast. Although, both DD’s have never seen the movie, they really enjoyed the show, the stunts and the elaborate special effects.

1125323-6.jpg

1125323-5.jpg

1125323-7.jpg

Next we headed to the Muppet 3D Vision. After our experience with Mickey’s Philharmagic I was looking forward to this show. I loved the Muppets as a young kid – especially Fozzie Bear. He was my favourite. Wocka Wocka. It wasn’t as magical as Philharmagic but fun and silly just the same.

1125323-9.jpg

Prince Grumpy had his heart set on seeing the Lights, Motors, Action Extreme Stunt Show but we MISSED the last showing. I felt terrible because I was the one who did all the planning and arranging of our days and it was the one thing he actually showed an interest in. I suggested that we could come back another day to see it but he said it was fine and didn’t matter.

1125323-10.jpg

Girls missed out on signatures - enjoyed the antics of the characters :)

1125323-11.jpg

Haven't seen the movie yet :sad2:

I read about the Honey, I Shrunk The Audience Movie Set, and thought it would be fun to see it. The others didn’t agree but followed along to humour me. I thought it was so cool but my DD’s took no interest in it at all. :bored: I think it had a lot to do with the fact that they were all hot, tired and were ready to head back to our resort for a rest before dinner.

1125323-12.jpg

Prince Grumpy needs a rest

1125323-13.jpg

Goofy tries the slide

1125323-14.jpg

Mom's almost falling over

When we arrived back at our resort, JoJo and Goofy headed to the arcade while DH and I went to our room. When we reached the room, I could see something was wrong by the look on my DH’s face. Our door was OPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Coming Up – Day 3 – Part 2 - Anything Missing? ::cop:

OMG your door was open! That's not what you want to see when you're tired and returning from the parks!

My kids are A LOT younger than yours and of course loved the Honey I shrunk the Playground thingy. What? No pictures of Grumpy on the ant? What gives??? My wife had trouble getting me OFF the ant

As you know blue, MGM ain't Clan Mills' favorite park. Hovever, a bad day at MGM beats a good day in Billings, MT !!!

Ask away blue-ster. Anything you ever want to know is only a PM away (if we know the answer that is :confused3 ).

I think Philharmagic needs to be viewed LAST. Reason? It's the BEST! Another reason we go to MK 5 days after arrival. The Pooh actually didn't like Philharmagic the first time she saw it. No, I'm not kidding. Ask her why. ;)

WHAT!!!! :confused3 Your kids have been deprived of classic American Literature... ok, not literature, but good stuff anyway! Indy Jones is da MAN! Stop whatever you're doing, drive down to Blockbuster or Canukbuster or whatever your movie store is called and rent these movies... NOW!! You are no longer allowed to post on these forums until JoJo & Goofy have seen Indy save the Ark of the Covenant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI: Prior to children, my wife and I had cats. Our first cat was named INDY! He was later eaten by a crow. :headache: Tragic story for another time. :thumbsup2

Omg, I LOVE your post. It makes me miss Disney. *sigh* Oh well. Just to defend the small majority of us 15 year olds out there, I don't complain at Disney......not often.......not much.......ok, well, just for the record my dad starts it. Heh. Can't wait til your next post!!!

great installment! I have a feeling I'll be the only adult playing in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids movie set!

I am really enjoying your trip report. What a lovely family you have. :)

Here I am posting - and no, I haven't rented the Indy movie yet from Canukbusters for the girls.

Speaking of Indy your cat, how on earth did a crow manage that???? Was it a small cat? That is terrible - you have to fill me in on it.

You are one funny guy banana man   I should be paying you to write my trip report!!!!

You know, I can actually picture you playing in that playground with Linnie right along side you :rotfl:

You may have a point about seeing MK last but I could never leave it until the end. Not me. No way. No how.

Hope you, Linnie and the kids had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. It was just a normal weekend here for us.

We took the girls to our local Santa Claus Parade and I wanted to share some pics with you:

This must be Donald's Canadian Cousin - CanuckDuck! :lmao:

Who is this Pooh Bear Imposter???

DH said "You just don't get the same feeling watching THIS parade..."

* and here I thought I was the only one in the family who felt those magic feelings - sometimes he surprises me :) *

I participated in this show and it was clearly the most embarressing moment in my life!! when they asked for volunteers my first instinct was to jump up. My DH looked at me like I had 3 heads :sad2: I was wearing my canada shirt and the announcer said you from Canada ....gulp what did i do. It was very fun and we didnt know that the guy from the audience was an actor so we were just as suprised. I had to pretend that the host shot me and fall down. I wish we had digital cameras back then i would share the embarrising photos.

Keep up the good report :goodvibes

Locked in your room for 30 hours???

Where were you staying and what did you all do for 30 hours? That's a long time. We would have went stir crazy in our small room. Well I would have, I'm sure the girls would have enjoyed a day of just watching movies.

Obviously you felt safe though if you said it was worth it and would do it again in a second.

Have you been back since your first trip? I'd be interested in hearing what you would do differently this time.

Thanks for reading :goodvibes

We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and loved loved loved :lovestruc it!
We will definelty stay there, we visited other resorts and prefered this resort.
although we would love to stay at the Poly but its just not in our budget. We decided for the next trip (hopefully sep 07) we would do riverside again and mabye 3 or 4 days at universal..my son is begging to go there.

the kids did nothing but jump on the beds and eat vending machine junk :sad2: during the hurricane.

i dont know what i would do differently it was such a magical trip other than take a few days for universal and mabye stay 10 days instead of 7. Oh yeah i would probably want the dinning plan :)

I disappeared and missed so much of your trip. I'm going back to read and catch up. I'm sure I'll have tons to say when I finish, I can't wait to read about the rest of your adventures.

Hope you're keeping warm!

i am dying to know why your door was open! can't wait for the next installment!!!
