Day 2 Part 7
Prince Grumpy and I decided wed like to take a late afternoon nap since the girls were interested in tracking down some more lizards. We promised to meet them by the pool in an hour and we both slept like babies. I think we may have slept longer if they hadnt messaged us on our radio for our wake up call. Feeling refreshed, we leisurely made our way to the pool area and DH bought himself a beer. He mentioned that hed like to buy one of those tall beer glasses but wasnt sure it would make it home in one piece.
Goofy showed us the new tattoo she got and told us about her newest adventures of being bitten by a lizard. JoJo told her to put both hands over one and slide it towards herself and as she did so, she said it bit her. Did that stop them? No. I guess they dont bite hard enough! Haha. The girls and I played around in the pool while DH relaxed. The water was a delightful temperature, warm but not so warm to be unpleasant. The girls found it much more comfortable than our chilly Canadian water.
Goofy: "Don't worry mom, it isn't real!"
Around 7:30, we headed back to mouseland. Remember I mentioned that we were jinxed with the card readers? On our way through, mine would not work, I kept putting it through and the CM kept giving it back to try again. After what seemed like 20 tries, he gave up and took my card and told me to wait while he went to get me a temporary pass. Im not sure what caused the problem, but I did have it in my pouch alongside the magnetic Disney star pin the girls received from the castle. Anyhow, it meant wed have to stand in line the next day, at the resort, and wait to be issued a new one.
Taken by JoJo
Girls: "Why does Dad keep making us pose for pictures??"
Prince Grumpy: "I can do it! Just give me a few more minutes...."
The first thing I wanted to see was Mickeys Philharmagic. This was our first 3D show and it was utterly amazing. The auditorium was gorgeous, the magic - real, the movies and music and smell of the apple pie, being sprayed with water all of it was so powerfully emotional. You cant help but applaud the producers of this sensory experience.
Who are these nerdy people?
Next we took a ride on Its a Small World. This ride through a wonderland of scenes brought back happy family memories from my childhood. Seeing the dancing dolls, dressed in their native clothing, made me think of my own family culture and background. Just writing this piece has got the song stuck in my head!
Prince Grumpy: "Hey...I'm seeing pink elephants!!!! Must have been that beer back at bar

"
We decided to have our dinner at Pinocchios Village Haus, where we finally found out who the characters Gideon and Foulfellow were from (pics on page 3 of TR). The meal was great but the temperature in that place! We were freezing. I found it cold in almost all of the restaurants at WDW. Ill know next time to bring along a sweater for meals.
JoJo: "Do you have to embarrass us in here? Enough already!"
After supper we went on The Mad Tea Party. Even in the darkness, we could see that this was such a colourful ride. Spinning and full bellies dont mix. I recall DH asking whose idea it was to go on that ride right after eating. I looked away innocently and started whistling.

Changing the subject as quickly as I could, I motioned them to follow me to find a spot for the parade.
This should be fun...I just ate 3 slices of pizza
This area was roped off for the parade and Prince Grumpy got in BIG trouble from a CM for going to take it.
Our so-called spot consisted of a space of about 2 x 2 behind 2 rows of adults. If the floats were not built as tall as they are, I wouldnt have seen a thing. Thats one of the downsides to being short. For the most part, I held my camera up as high as I could to capture it on video, poking my head through the crowd every now and then to have a better look. I placed Goofy in front of me as I didnt want her to miss out but JoJo had no desire to be squished amongst strangers and the close proximity was causing her to have one of her fainting attacks. DH asked her if she wanted to go wait somewhere else until it was over but she bravely declined and stood a bit back from us. I felt sorry for a small boy of about 6 or 7 years old, who tried hopelessly to get a spot up front. The parents around us were having no part of it. They wouldnt let him through, and I heard a mother yell at him to stop budding. His father pushed him forward and told him to go ahead through. Poor little child.
