:confused3 I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR INPUT ON HELPING ME CHOOSE BETWEEN POLY AND CR..............BUT AS I STATED BEFORE IS IT WORTH THE EXTRA HUNDREDS OF DOLLOARS MORE THAN PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE, WE WONT' BE SPENDING THAT MUCH TIME IN OUR ROOM.

I ask my self the same question now with staying at POR or a value.. and my answer is yes.. but the Poly is obvioulsy a completely different league..

If you don't do Disney that often then it would probably be worth it. If you really don't plan on much time in the room, it may not be. We are usually surprised at how much we do go back to the room to take a break during our trips.

That's really a question that only you can answer....

To some, it will absolutely be worth it. The location of the MK resorts can't be beat. The atmosphere of the Poly is probably the best on property. If you have little ones who may need a break, it's so quick & easy to get to the MK resorts for a swim or a nap.

The rooms are much nicer and more spacious, there are more dining options, and having the monorail at your front door is not only time saving and convenient, but it's just plain cool!!!

To others, it would not be worth it. They feel that the money is better spent on food and souvis. They' don't mind bus transportation and room size isn't an issue.

The moderates are nice, much micer than the value resorts, but the deluxes have it all.........

If money isn't a huge issue and you can afford it, I say go for the Contemporary or Poly. Either of those resorts are fabulous!! :wizard:

I don't think anybody but you can answer that question, knowing your financial situation. For me, if I stay in a monorail resort (and I've only done so once...and even then, I split the cost with my sister), I have to feel as if I'm going to actually be in the room other than just to sleep!
Just my "two cents worth"...you have to decide what you can live with!

This really is something only you could answer. I have friends/relatives who'd stay at the Poly or CR in a heartbeat and never bat an eye at the cost, and others (who are in the same financial situation) who would consider any deluxe an appalling waste of money, even if they spent every minute of their trip there.

I agree with Tink10, worth is completely subjective and from the tone of your post I would say for you it's a no. If a couple of hundred dollars are going to stay on your mind (and since this is the 2nd time around your questioning this, I think it will) and you say your not in your room alot, stick with Port Orleans Riverside.
For us we love the deluxes and generally a few hundred bucks is not enough for us to leave them (we stayed in every catergory).

I've stayed at all 3 of the resorts you mentioned.

If you are concerned about money then I'd go with POR. It is a beautiful resort, great amenities, lovely grounds, relaxing & very nice rooms.

If you want exceptional comfort, convenience to MK & EPCOT, first class rooms & you're not worried about the extra money then I'd stay at the Poly.

in my opinion No.

but in your situation I won't spend the extra on a moderate either.

go with a value - I love Pop Century. Especially since you won't be spending alot time in your room or at the resort.

the moderates and deluxes are GREAT. but only if you intend to enjoy the stuff that only they have. If you don't - and it certainly sounds like you aren't - then no - it isn't worth the extra price.

if you don't like Pop then do one of the All Stars.

do you have kids that need naps? poly would be a fast getaway if you spend lots of time at MK.

do you do pool breaks?
will you visit other parks as well?
if you will not be returning much to the room, then
it is just a room and why pay for deluxe? if you spend time in the room, you may want a place that has larger rooms and a few more perks.

I agree with spiceycat.

I stayed at The CR with a MK view back in 1990 for my 40th birthday.
When I first stepped onto the balcony and saw that breataking view of the castle I though I died and went to heaven. After about 5 minutes and a few photos we headed to to parks. I only went out on the balcony a few times and only for a few minutes during our 6 night stay.
I decided then that we do not spend enough time at our resort to enjoy the view and so the higher price was not worth it for us.

I have a beautiful balcony off my bedroom that overlooks our all sports private lake and our inground pool.

I hardly ever go out on it. I would rather be going for a boat ride or enjoying our pool.

It is the same at Disney for me. I would rather be out enjoying the parks than sitting on a balcony looking at them.

I have stayed at all levels resorts at Disney.

I am 56 years old and travel several times a year for pleasure. I often stay at 3 and 4 (and sometimes even a 5) star hotels and motels.
So the deluxe and mod resorts are just another hotel/motel to me.
Staying at a Disney value resort is like being in the heart of the Magic and that is where I want to be.

All Star Music is my favorite. It is quieter because more couples stay there. I love staying at the Calypso building. It is closer to the pool, food court and bus stop.

Please see my info thread for more resaons why I enjoy All Star Music so much.
