Busy Times! Please help us decide WHEN to go!!!:)

I've heard terrible things about the week of New Year's here and also President's Day week as far as crowds go. Unfortunately, these 2 weeks are really our only options.

Which is better (relatively speaking of course!) and which is worse? We have got to get this booked and I just can't seem to make a final decision.

Pros? Cons? Eagerly awaiting your much-appreciated magical advice. Thanks in advance for your input.

we have been during President's Day week and the crowds were not bad and the weather was wonderful. we had a great time.

We're going in Oct for the food and wine festival and I guess it's supposed to be really busy then too. I'm not sure when it's really good time to go!! LOL! I think anytime is a good time to go in my eyes!!

I would go with your gut feeling and whenever that is, just make the best of it and have a blast!!! After all, you ARE going to WDW!!!!

We were there New Years week and although it was crowded as expected we were able to do alot. And we were there with 2 & 5 year olds as well as grand parents. We found it's better to go to the parks first thing in the morning, then take a break in the afternoon and return in the evening. The afternoons were the busiest with extremely long wait lines. But we took advantage of the EMH and got on all of the main attractions w/out having to wait too long. New Year's Eve was crazy busy but New Year's day wasn't too bad. It was also really nice to be able to see all of the Christmas decorations still up. Hope that helps!

Just bumping this up in hopes of getting some more responses.

Hoping someone can sway me one way or another. I know if we booked for late December, we could do the DDP already. Waiting for February, we'd have to wait to book that IF it's available, right? Thinking it'd be really neat to see the Christmas decorations and they'd still be up for New Year's right?

I would pick presidents week over New years. Reason: New Years and Christmas break are national holidays and you will have famlies traveling from all over the us to Disney. Presidents you will have more locals driving in for long weekends to Disney. We were there with Martin Luther king weekend and saw an increase on Fridy and Sat but that was about it.

I had friends there over christmas and they wer closing parks due to being at capacity.

I think if you are flying you would find some better air deals then.
