Busy times for DVC ressies?

I keep hearing that the busy and slow times at WDW don't necessarily correlate to the busy and slow times at DVC. As recently joined DVC members, we'd be interested to know what times are busy and slow for getting DVC ressies, say at 7 months. We're particularly interested in the following times: very beginning of January (right after New Years), second and third week in March, Memorial day thru to third week in June, and Thanksgiving week. Any input from anyone would really help. Are we correct that OKW is probably available at any of those times at 7 months? How about BCV or BWV standard studios. Any experiences?

Where is your home resort? If you are new and you didn't buy a re-sale then you probably bought at BCV. You can get an eleven month window at this resort but not at the others, which only allow you a seven month window. I don't think you will have trouble getting into BWV at the 7 month window in January, but as far as the other times of year eg. summer and Memorial Day week et al, BWV fills up very quickly and probably won't be available. I have been told by CMS that this is by far the most popular resort

Actually, our home resort is VWL, which we thought at the time would be our favorite. However, we've found that we like the others we've stayed at (OKW and BCV) better. Haven't tried BWV yet, but we'd like to.

You really can't count on getting BWV standard views at the 7 month window. It is not impossible, but it is not probable, either. You should definitely plan on using the waitlist for at least some of your days and it may or may not work for you. A back up plan is a very good idea! Of the times you listed, your best chance of getting a standard view is the beginning of January, and the worst chance is Thanksgiving week. Of course, all of this is JMHO. YMMV.

If you really want to stay in a standard view, my advice is to trade reservations/points with a BWV owner. That way, you can take advantage of the 11 month window.

We just booked a two bdrm for the end of November and choose a premium view because the CM said the standard view was of the parking lot. Isn't this true or are there better views.
