Can someone tell me if it is crowded in January? We are considering booking the second week in Jan next year. I have been hearing there are a lot of tour groups at the parks then? Can anyone help me? Thanks :)

January is our very favorite time to go due to low crowd levels and comfortable weather! The second week, you will have the marathon to think about (7-11 or something like that) but we haven't found it increases crowd levels much at all. It does cause some traffic problems if you are driving though. Yes, there are a lot of South American tour groups at that time, but they have never bothered us at all. It's a great time to go!

January is great! But, it can be cold. That's fine with me, though. The Brazilian tour groups are there, but the only negative experience I had was getting stuck in line at a Fast Pass machine behind one of their our guides, who wa getting about a hundred Fast Passes. But, that can't happen any more. There was never a problem with them crowding up the parks at all.

We just returned and usually LOVE to go in January, but this trip definitely made us re-evalutate. We normally luck out with it being pretty warm, but our last couple of days there were SO cold! While still better than here in NY, high 40's is NOT okay for me lol. It almost didn't feel like we were in Disney because it was so cold!

As far as crowd levels, Jan. was always our favorite time to go. We felt like it was really different this time around. I don't know if it was because of FP+ or not. The lines themselves were longer in general, and I think that's because less people were able to use FP, but we did walk on whatever we fast passed. It sort of stinks that you're limited to only three. By the time ours were finished we had over half the day to go and wanted more.

We just got home today. Jan. 12 through 16 was walk-on to everything. After that MLK weekend kicked in and E-ticket rides bumped up to 75 minutes. Temps were in the 50s as well.

It is lower crowds, lots of tour groups.Weather can be frigid and some of the rides ( like Splash Mountain) traditionally goes down for rehab in January

Thanks everyone...we have been going in August but sometimes the heat gets to us. Never been in January and heard the crowd level was good so thinking of trying it :thumbsup2

After embracing a July and September trip to the World dodging heat, humidity, and tropical storms, we are trying our first trip in January next week. I hope it isn't too cold, but being able to (possibly) comfortably enjoy the afternoon sun does sound appealing after the drenching sweat that was our last two trips. I hope, though, that the cold doesn't make it feel too "un-vacation."

We loved January. Thus far, it's our favorite time to go above April, July, and November.
The crowds were low and the weather beautiful. There can be an occasional cold front, but I find that easier to deal with than the heat.

We just got back - the coldest days were pretty miserable. I don't care how cold it is at home, 40 degrees with a strong wind at WDW is not fun. But most of our days were in the 70s, and that felt awesome!

Just got back as well (Jan 10-Jan 18) and we didn't wait more than 20 minutes for any attraction. Anna & Elsa had a long wait, plus we waited in our seats for a few shows, but never waited more than 20 minutes for anything else. Including Soarin standby, test Track, RnR, ToT, etc,.
